This is a decent gym, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The gym is also quite clean. But it would be nice to see an updated leg press machine on the second floor. A plate loaded Hack Squat or Power Squat would be great additions for leg day along with a plate loaded hip thrust machine.nnThe hours on the weekends are kind of short. I do wish they opened earlier all 7 days.
Today I came to the gym for another workout, but when I tried to enter, I was not allowed in by a Chinese-looking employee I didn’t see her badge and I don’t know her name, I went to the reception, we had a conversation. She checked my client card, and also found the form that I filled out 4 days ago with another employee. She demanded that I immediately give her my debit/credit card so that she could check it. To which I said that I didn’t have it with me this card was checked 4 days ago by other employees, and after that they gave me a client card. She seemed not to hear me and started demanding the card again, and I repeated the same thing to her, then she asked for a photo, which I tried to find on my phone, but in the end she didn’t wait for the photo and let me in.nnHer face was very displeased and it felt like she was doing me a favor by letting me into this gym, even though I had every right to. I don't understand why I have to show my card for verification every time, if it was verified 4 days ago and this data was also entered into the system. This employee, in my experience, stops customers and makes conversation. A very unfriendly woman who behaves rudely, and seems to be trying to be professional and forgets moments of politeness. I don't plan on carrying bank cards with me every time to go to the gym. This situation was very unpleasant. I chose this gym only because it is relatively close to my house although there are few exercise machines, constant renovations and pools are busy, air conditioners are not powerful. Now after such service I have no desire to visit this gym.
I wish they would do more to find a secure place people can leave their bikes. To many bikes are being stolen. All the outside places for bikes are in blind spots, can't be seen from inside the YMCA. This really needs to be fixed so people with bikes can feel comfortable coming.
Need to update hours. Would be nice if the facility was open longer for the pricing. Students are not the only ones who use the facilities late, just because they go doesn't mean hours should be reduced. Unless of course my membership cost is also reduced.
I’ve been a member of the YMCA for a while and generally enjoy the gym’s facilities and positive atmosphere. However, I’ve had an ongoing and very uncomfortable experience with one of the personal trainers that has significantly impacted my visits. This trainer, who has blonde hair and glasses, consistently makes me feel self-conscious every time I work out. On numerous occasions, he stands nearby, crosses his arms, and watches me closely while I’m trying to focus on my exercises. It often feels like he’s intentionally observing me, making me feel judged.nnThis happens every time I go, and I usually just leave and try to ignore it. However, I eventually noticed that this creepy trainer was purposely watching only me and not anyone else, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. One day, he stared at me for about 10 minutes, laughing with his arms crossed while I was trying to work out. His behavior was unsettling and has made me feel demotivated, uncomfortable, and unable to focus on my progress.nnA gym should be a place where everyone feels safe, supported and motivated to improve. Unfortunately, this ongoing issue has made it difficult for me to feel comfortable during my workouts. I sincerely hope the YMCA can address this behaviour so that all members can enjoy a positive and respectful gym environment. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and free from discomfort when working on their fitness goals
