It’s good, everyone super friendly, space for everyone. ONE thing though… THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING INSIDE RHE GYM. I am hot as F up here trying to work out please install cool air!!
I would not recommend! It was good at the start but lately it really isn't wirth it for the price you pay. The hot tub is always down and now so are the pools and sauna so all your getting is the work out facilities that you can get for a fraction of the price anywhere than that you pay at the YMCA.. reason why pools sauna and hot tub when it's working are never available other then weekends they have swimming lessons from 3 pm until 7:45pm so if you work day shift your out of luck and now they have day camp going so it closes even sooner then before.. but hey you want to pay 56 dollars a month plus pay a hundred for building fees for a place to just work out then than I guess it's the place for you lol
The gym is pretty small and overcrowded, especially in the evening with Laurier students. I pay over $40 every two weeks and the gym has less machines than options like Fit for Less or Crunch. In addition, the gym cuts hours during the summer time and keeps pricing the same year round. It's one of the most expensive gyms in town and very busy. The steam room and pool are great. However, the hot tub is broken half the time and remains closed for weeks at a time. I would recommend Movati over the Y because the price is similar and it's not so busy with the amenities and bigger gym. The worst part is, the fee to initially join is expensive so you feel locked in once you join. I just don't get why a gym built on charity charges one of the highest gym prices in the city. If you don't have any subsidies or student memberships, it's not worth joining and paying full price. The hours, crowd, price and lack of machines do not make it worth while.
Expensive charge every 14 days, caters to children and university students, parking and facilties difficult to access pool, jacuzzi and sauna, front desk unfriendly, to have steam room access, it’s over $1000 per year, plus parking fees $2.50/hr if you stay over time limit. Overall nice facilities but schedule for adults is inconvenient.
The staff is always willing to help. I like their pool better than the ones in Hamilton's YMCAs.
