Our CINEMA is more than a regular place to see a movie, its a place for friends to meet, socialize and share the experience. Since 1970 we live movies.
In 1950, Laurentian Cinema was born. A place to catch feature films.
In 1970, under new ownership the mission became to create a place for the community to gather and share the movie experience. A movie house where a major feature is enjoyed and afterwards, one can grab a place at the table to share a café with the owners and talk about film. The Laurentian became an entertainment pillar for the community, the CINEMA. Located in Grenville (Quebec) between Montreal and Ottawa, it is the only theater serving the greater Grenville/Hawkesbury population.
In 1980, The Laurentian underwent a major expansion to become a twin cinema and converted from the original carbon projection to xenon lamp projection and platter. We continued to bring the latest features and much joy to our customers.
In 2012, The Laurentian continued to provide excellence to our patrons by upgrading to BARCO State of the art 2K digital projectors, added REAL 3D projection and a new Dolby Stereo Surround Sound System with accompanying panels to trap the sound.
In 2013, we dedicated Cinema 2 to Academy award winning director Eunice Macaulay (Special Delivery). After a grand celebration, Cinema 2 has been hence forth known as the Macaulay Room, in her honor. We are pleased to continue to provide an excellent movie experience to our community for many years to come.
