Absolutely delicious, fresh, and flavorful with plenty of spice. Not as hot as rolls it would be, but I have a very high heat tolerance. Love the Pad Saap. Tried the curry and it was really good. Will have to try that next time. Highly recommend. Great, attentive service.Food: 5/5
There's no denying Lat14 is an outstanding dining experience! Even before the pandemic, this was one of my favorite places to eat, and I'm not sure why it took me so long to share it with you. The food is absolutely delicious, offering a variety of flavorful Asian dishes. Service is friendly, helpful, and prompt. Lastly, the ambience is stunning and delicately rustic. NOTE: They open at 4p everyday, and close most nights at 9p. Reservations are definitely encouraged as it's a very popular place. Curbside Pickup is also available, as well as patio dining on our beautiful, sunny MN days. EVERYTHING I've eaten and drunk here has been fabulous! Here are just a few: Small Plates - Basil wings*, Lumpia°, Snow crab wonton*° From the Wok - Drunken noodles*°, Bacon pineapple fried rice*° Lat14 Signature - Thai basil duck*°, Creamy Tom Young ramen Cocktails - Lat14 Old Fashioned°, Lat14 Tonic*°, May Flowers*°, The Beauty of the Seasons° Oh, and don't forget dessert! I never miss Luq's favorite ice cream, even when I do take out. * = Faves ° = Pictured #FromAsiaWithLove
First time here and this place is pretty cool. Very nice and clean. Very helpful staff and the wings are amazing! Ordered a drink and the chicken pineapple fried rice and both were delish! Be mindful the check sure adds up with the extra 20%
We thouroughly enjoyed our first time dining here! Our waitress, Erin, introduced us to the menu highlights and was such a bubbly and pleasant person I'd go back just for the service. But the favors! Oh my! Such a perfect balance. Don't assume the gorgeous sprigs of basil are just for looks; I couldn't do a single bite without them after I tore off a leaf and added it to my bite. The cocktails are divine and they don't skimp on the good stuff. There were several mocktail options but I'd have loved to see a little more variety within the batch. Wish we'd have saved room for dessert but, with two entrees and two appetizers, I was surprised we put down as much as we did! We drove across the cities for this treasure and will do it again. Would love an electric charge port here!
I’ve been coming here for over year and the experience has really gone down hill. When we first came the food tasted amazing and portions were decent. But now the menu is smaller and smaller everytime we go. The portions are smaller and the last time we got the green beans they tasted different. We had to sit outside on a table that could barely hold all our food. I have enjoyed our time coming here in the past but I will no longer be coming anymore. Our bill was about $100 for these items and glass of wine.
Lat14 was an awesome experience from the moment we walked in the door. Amazing staff and even better food and cocktails! As a ramen fanatic, this place was the best find. The creamy Tom yum ramen is an elevated dish with perfectly cooked seafood and the right mix of spice and flavor profiles. I can't wait to eat this again and try more of the menu! I'll definitely be back!
New 20% hospitality fee added to receipt and still have a place for tip so may be adding 35% to what you would be expecting. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Restaurant is very clean and open, great ambiance. Food is tasty but not mind blowing. Cocktails are interesting to say the least. Tasty, but unique. Trying to be different which may not always be the best thing, but an experience for the least.
Definitely a must visit in Minneapolis. The ambiance of this place is quiet chic. I got to sit on the patio and it was one of those spring evenings ,not too hot, not too cold. Loved the leoche.Would come back for more.
We wanted to taste Ann Ahmed’s creations so were excited for our dinner at Lat14. We ordered several dishes and found them uneven in quality. We ordered the lumpia, the Thai basil chicken wings, the Nam Khao, the lechon and the red snapper filet which our server said was replaced with cod that evening The lumpia and the cod were delicious. In fact the cod was wonderful even without the 2 sauces. The odd thing, though, was that the fish was an entree but was way smaller than any of our appetizers. The lechon was overcooked & had some burnt edges. In retrospect, I should have sent it back but it was late & I was quite hungry. It had none of the subtle flavors of Filipino lechon or Peranakan or Chinese pork belly dishes. Lat14’s was just dry & salty from being slightly burnt. The Nam Khao was a very generous dish of entree proportions but was not flavorful at all. It tasted like yesterday’s fried rice that was just a tad greasy for me. That was the most disappointing. Our dinner was unremarkable. At $160 for 2 people, this restaurant was not worth our 20 minute drive —nor the $$. Cocktails were good though, the service outstanding, & the room conversation-friendly. Food just wasn’t distinctive to merit a return. Another odd thing was rice is not served with any of the entrees like my cod filet. That’s not typical at all in Southeast Asia. Rice costs extra at Lat14. Parking: Adequate parking. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to complicate entry or exit
Lat 14 has a beautiful ambiance and aesthetic. The wine selection is unique and intriguing. The food was delectable. Staff was attentive and friendly. I can’t replicate their spicy tofu for the life of me so I will definitely be back.
