Produce and meat prices are so high, it's a big thing complained about by many who shop there. I haven't been shopping there even once without myself or others around making the same constant comments about them needing to lower prices on these items
If this independent expects me to pay the price of AAA meat when it’s not, they’re mistaken, everything is overpriced, food goes bad within 2-3days, noticed food tampering which is disgusting, especially the meat when it’s about to go bad, starts to smell, discolouration all they do is bring it in the back, add spices and seasonings and increase the price cuz apparently it adds value like this is just so wrong, makes sick to have noticed that I prefer traveling to Co-op in moonbeam getting real food that I know hasn’t been tampered with and is high quality and lasts a long time, this store needs to be brought down hardcore for ripping loyal customers blindly.

Seemed fine to me. Staff were nice. All the products I wanted were available. Prices are the prices.
I understand that the new self checkouts are probably really exciting to staff… but if someone tells you 5 times that they don’t need help… please just walk away and don’t just hover over and continue telling me how to use it and when the debit says “call for help” don’t tell me it’s my card and that it’s my problem. It wasn’t completed because you wouldn’t stop talking to me and it did work when you finally shut up. People go to the self checkout so they DONT have to talk to people. Personal space and train the staff better.
Lots of products and different brand names. Parking lot can accommodate medium to large travel trailers, when not busy. Prices competitive given northern location.

Larabie's Independent has a monoply in Kap and surrounding area as to price gouging. I can't beleive the outrageous prices they charge accross the board for products. Foe example in the summer months Ontario produce is sent up to Northern Ontario Larabies at lower pricing then USA produce and yet Larabies charges the same USA prices for Ontario grown produce!!! This is out right greed by the Larabies owners.Their meat counter is a joke.Everything is over priced chicken legs $3.00 per pound !!! and limited selection.I encourage the town administers Mayor, councilors etc to approach the grocers such as No Frills and Food Basics who are geared to the working class residends to set up shop in Kap. I can guarantee that if the current Mayor and Councilors supported such a initiative they would get re-elected. On the other side if this group fails to support this type initative then any interested new canadidates for the next local election uses this single platformbringing in No Frills/Food Basic they will get elected by a land slde. Kap residents you carry the power to run this town in our best interests and not in the interest of the Mayor/Councillors. We have the power to make changes lets start here. Together we can break this monoply and have competition which results in fairer prices to us and a better quality of life.
Good store but did not carry the case of red peppers for $12.00. Missed out on steak deal. Thursday they did not have the steaks. Tuesday the deal was over. Not happy.
Great store with lots of selecting in both fresh prepared food as well as grocery items. Asside from the VERY rude cashear who was sooking french to the gentlemen in front of us and when I said hello in English to her she did not even utter one word. I spoke to her saying thank you very much s have a nice day. Not one word came out if her mouth. Ohh well I guess some people live up to the stereotype.
