She completed two years of training in Endodontics at the Autonoma University of Guadalajara in Mexico and became a Specialist in Endodontics in 1994.After several years of dental practicing and teaching in her own country, she relocated and obtained the Dental License in California in 2010. Since then she has been providing services as Associate Dentist in General Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, and Endodontics. In 2015 she decided to establish her own practice in the beautiful city of San Jose, CA. where she enjoys the pleasant weather, and outdoor activities with her husband."

10/10 recommend this dentist and her office! They were quick, efficient, and effective. That’s saying something considering I am on medi-cal. Medi-cal is NEVER quick but Sandra and her office provided all paperwork in a speedy and accurate fashion to where my wait time was very minimal. Sandra herself took great care to fix my tooth and made sure I was comfortable and pain free. I am very grateful for her compassion and bedside manner. I went from panic attack mode to almost falling asleep she was so reassuring. Thank you guys so much for helping me keep my tooth and my smile!
I was experiencing tremendous pain needing a root canal for a molar. Five minutes into the procedure the pain was gone. She did an amazing job, constantly making sure I was comfortable the entire time, and I was totally surprised how quick and easy the procedure went.
Positive experience, quick waiting times, friendly staff and a helpful doctor. I am normally scared of going to the dentist but I felt comfortable here. Turns out I didn't need a root canal after all!
I was referred to Dr. Lara and her team by my dentist for a root canal. I was contacted in less than a week by Dr. Lara's office and was seen that same week to be assessed. After a little less than 2 weeks of waiting for Denti-cal to approve my procedure, I was promptly scheduled and had my root canal done yesterday. Dr. Lara made sure I was super comfortable and it was probably one of the best experiences I've had with a dentist. I'm grateful that she and her office took such good care of me and so quickly. Thank you Dr. Lara!
Dr. Lara's office has an absolutely wonderful staff, from the front-line to the amazing Dr. Lara herself. For much of my life, I had been terrified I would need root canal treatment one day. When that time had come for me to finally get a root canal, I felt so blessed I had this work done by Dr. Lara and her team. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!
I was referred to this office by my insurance, as it is the only one available for a specialist in Endodontics. I left a message regarding the need for a root canal and that I have Medi-Cal/ Central California Alliance for Health. They denied taking me as an emergency patient and stated that I would have to wait until March to be seen. Most people that need a root canal is cased as emergency. I've never met anyone that did not have pain or infection associated with a root canal and needed emergency treatment. To deny people with emergency and being the only specialist available for our insurance provider. It is a shame and I've read the other reviews for your treatment of Medi-Cal patients. Definitely going to report this to the insurance company and the better business bureau.
Was referred to Sandra P. Lara from my general dentist for a root canal treatment. I was super nervous prior to the treatment, but in all honesty i didn’t feel a thing during the entire procedure. Dr. Lara is very nice and careful. The only “pain” you’ll feel is the anesthesia shot, but that doesn’t really hurt. Overall, very pleased with my experience and will return if I need to. 10/10.
I am very grateful for Sandra Lara DDS and her team. My son has some mental health issues and needed a root canal. He was feeling fearful to get work done, he said everyone was very kind and gentle. Everyone that I was in communication with was very helpful and answered my many questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend Sandra DDS and team.
This place said I needed a root canal procedure done. However, when they submitted the work over to my insurance it was denied. Reason it was denied was that my insurance only got X-rays no notes explaining why I needed procedure. I tried texting them sometime after trying to ask if they could resubmit and they gave the sorry we can’t resubmit due to already submitting it already to them. Apparently there was no notes. I finally got approval from insurance after some time and tried to let them know and got no response. Still having issue with my tooth and this is the level of service I get unbelievable.
I called in to find out if they take Medi-Cal, and I was told yes but only for first time root canal consultations. I explained my situation that I was not looking for a root canal, I was seeking the advice of a tooth that had cracked recently from a previous root canal. I was told there was nothing they could do for me, no consultation, nada, and that I needed to go find another endontist. Believe me, I will. I wouldn't recommend this clinic to an enemy.
