Just took delivery of my new Langford. First let me start off by saying we stopped in 3 to 4 weeks ago and Steve was amazing, knowledgeable, fun and accommodating. We custom ordered our canoe with all the options we wanted. It was delivered a week early!!! The owner even delivered it himself right to our cottage . I would say that I have zero concerns with their service. It was 5 star!!. I have admired this brand for 25 years and never got around to buying a new canoe. I am so glad I chose Langford!! Thanks for the fantastic canoe and exceptional and personable service!!
Purchasing our Langford Canoe has been a wonderful experience. We went to the Mississauga location to pick it up and were able to see a few other models on display. These boats are absolutely stunning! Andrew was a pleasure to work with, both through emails and in person. He took the time to answer all of our questions. I think their colour options are beautiful, and even better in person. It was hard to decide, but as lovers of Canadian art and The Group of Seven, we opted for Tom Thomson Blue. We also got to see some of Langford's paddles, which are works of art in themselves. I love how they have special editions that feature the artwork of indigenous artists and celebrate elements of our Canadian Heritage, like Hudson's Bay Co., Tragically Hip, and Tom Thomson. This nod to history and the added layer of meaning make our Langford Canoe feel extra special. It's more than just a canoe.nP.S. it paddles like a dream!
I recently had the opportunity in October 2022 to purchase two new canoes for my family and friends, for extensive backcountry tripping. We are experienced backcountry trippers and were looking for canoes that can do it all.nnAfter an extensive search we decided to go with Langford for the build quality and the historic connection this company has with Algonquin Park. We met with Steve MacAllister who was very knowledgeable and insightful who helped us pick out the right boats for our needs.nnWe decided on two 17’4” Kevlar Prospectors. I would also highly recommend the accessories which included Carbon Gunwales, Interior Paint easier for cleaning, and bow and stern skid plates.nnAfter a season of paddling and camping my family, friends and I all have fallen in love with these dream canoes. The streamline design raised deck and the overall build quality allows these boats to slice through the water and minimize energy input when the wind is against you. We found them to be very stable, with a full load: pack, barrel, dog and two adults, which contributes to amazing days on the water.nnWhen it comes to portaging, they are weighted precisely, and the weight was in the feather-weight category. A dream to carry.nnI would also like to thank Andrew who helped us with delivery and his experience throughout the process.nnThank you Langford.
I stopped in at Langford on my way through on my way back from Algonquin Park. All I bought was a t shirt! But I spoke with the guys for about an hour about the canoes. They were very knowledgeable. I have been canoeing for about 20 years and the guys here k ow what they are talking about. We looked at the canoes and they even brought one outside so I could throw it on my shoulders. I will second a fellow reviewer in saying the balancing is exact. The build quality is fantastic even in the lower priced builds. And the Kevlar with carbon gunwales I could lift with one hand if it wasn’t 17ft long. And not mine. I have two little kids and I do t trust them with a canoe this nice but once I do I will be coming g to Langford for my 17ft Prospector with three seats and cherry seats. Thanks guys for the great customer Service I will be back. Also your wood canoes are beautiful.
We got the chance to visit Langford Canoe while at the cottage on the weekend. I was so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of the canoes; and with the knowledge of the new owner, Brad. He was well versed in the history of the company and the features of the products. We spent an interesting and productive time narrowing down the inventory to the perfect canoe for us! Thanks Brad!
