Beautiful blue sky today ! Very good parking place. Municipal golf course is one of Vancouver city. Today is the Yonsei senior golf 3 team's September tournament. On the Greens conditions is good , Fair way Greens conditions is not bad and 2-hols is maintenance now. Club house & Restaurant lounge of loops renovations now. Green fee is economy price for seniors.
It’s a nice course. Enjoyable layout, forgiving and some really nice sloping greens. Unfortunately in early November it’s extremely muddy in many areas. A couple of greens are in rough shape lots of divots. I also had a hard time navigating a few holes, signage could be better. Also, it’s good in a way, because they are improving the drainage, but I was pretty upset that the proshop didn’t warn me that the 4th hole’s tees were temporarily moved to half way down the hole.. Probably a solid 4 star course in summer, but pretty rough/sloshy in the fall. Price was decent at first twilight.
Great public course with responsible rates. The course is well maintained but can get pretty busy in peak season. Book ahead using the app. This is also one of the closest courses to the city. Highly Recommended!
Very affordable Golf Course to play at that's not private. I would rate it a 78 out of 100 for challenge
Played this on January 9th 2020. Only giving it three stars because it was so soft under foot. However the greens were excellent and I would imagine this a lovely course to play during the summer.
one of Vancouver's municipal golf courses this one is located right in the heart of the city. Because of its location in an elevated location of the city, the drainage of this particular piece of land is actually quite good. This course will generally dry out before most others, so your plate can be extended from early spring to late fall or even later. The course length is not too long maybe about 6600 yards, however it is well laid out and challenging in and of itself. There are enough stands of trees as well as well laid out sand trap protection in the fairways and green side to provide some thought as to approach to the hole. The greens themselves are usually in excellent condition and for the most part large and quite undulating. Putting is generally a challenge for this course; fair and keeps you on your game, but challenging to 2 putt everything. As well, with the ongoing climate change, other courses may burn up and turn brown what with all of the watering restrictions in the city, however Langara is also located on top of its own aquifer and maintains its green fairways no matter the outside temperature. The fact that this golf course is located literally in the heart of the city means that it is highly accessible and in fact the Canada line subway stops directly outside of it. It also means that this course is very popular and teetimes can be somewhat difficult to find. The clubhouse is well provisioned and there is an attached large dining room suitable for events but also for post-round drinks and dining. As with all of the other municipal golf courses in Vancouver, the food is actually very good and we often stop after rounds for a bite. I've come here many times over the years and will continue to visit.
Drainage and course conditions have improved over the last few years. Not as interesting layout as other public courses in the area and no driving range, just some cages to warm up before your round. Easy to walk. Good marshalls and helpful staff overall.
Played yesterday after numerous previous wet days and the course was in amazing shape. It wasn't muddy at all. Seems like they stepped up their drainage management....especially for a city course. Great Value! Well Done! Oh!...and the staff working the Pro Shop 4/7/22 were extremely helpful. Thanks guys.
Golfed here on June 10th. The staff did a great job keeping the course playable with all the rain this Spring. Decent course, but 18 and under players, I would recommend playing the blue tees. Holes are a bit short from the whites. No patio or table service here, so go inside and purchase a beer and food and bring it outside to enjoy the sun. We had a corporate function with banquet and the service, staff and the buffet was top shelf. Better than I expected with the small clubhouse.
Drainage is decent and course is fun but not the most visually interesting. Greens well kept
