We didn’t stay there but might next time. The restaurant was amazing! I absolutely loved the atmosphere, the waitress also told us the story of who’s house it was. The privateers portrait hangs in the wall. I love the history of the place and the friendliness of the staff. The seafood chowder was chocked full and one of the best in NS that I had! I love the pub/lounge look. If I lived there I would be there all the time!
On a quiet evening, we had great service in a room with the feel of some history to it. The food was delicious and well-prepared, with a food menu along the lines of what you’d find at large franchised restaurants with some great additional seafood options. The fried clams were particularly good. Great local beer selection on tap. Typical children’s menu. Prices are typical for tourist-focused places on the South Shore. If you are looking for distinctly local cuisine or a unique culinary experience, this isn’t your place. If you want a nice meal, great seafood, and/or good beer, head on in.
very nice hotel, although could use some work on exterior. Very charming vintage interior and well appointed rooms. Front desk staff was exceptional, friendly, helpful, efficient. The restaurant was very good, excellent menu choices and above average food at a reasonable price
We were at a convention at a different Hotel, we came to Lanes for Supper. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. Staff very friendly. Meals are a tad on high side, however it was worth it.
Visited the restaurant for the first time. Atmosphere is cozy and clean. Service was great, food was good too. Would recommend stopping here on your way through Liverpool.Service: 5/5
Had breakfast on Sunday morning, there was ONE server on I think his name is Milan and he had about ten tables. He was very friendly and polite and the food was DELICIOUS and very fairly priced. Coffee was really great too! Will 100% return :Service: 5/5
The food, service & restaurant were great! The place looked like it needed a good vacuum.
We are 3 senior couples and long time friends from 3 different parts of the country on a tour of Nova Scotia. We attended lanes privateer restaurant for dinner. We soon came to the opinion that something was strange with our server as she repeated herself a number of times telling us her age and her personal drama of which we weren't interested. At first we politely interacted with her then we became quiet and politely smiled. The meals were served and wore ok except for one. A striploin steak, medium rare was ordered and came out small, tough, very dry and tasteless. It appeared and tasted to be cut from a round steak. Due to the mannerism of the waitress it would not have been a good idea to complain at the time. At the end of the meal she stood beside the one who ordered and ate the steak and said "did you feed it to the dog? I bet you wanted to". He had not said anything to her and we had no idea what was meant by that but again no confrontation was given, only a smile and nod was given. A very strange experience not wanted to be repeated.
The restaurant was fantastic! Great food and the wait staff were wonderful. The rooms however were lacking in every way except water pressure. The bed and bedding were terrible. The benches outside would have provided better comfort. The shower curtain was disgusting and the bathroom was generally filthy. Hardly “deluxe” accommodations
Pretty much the only restaurant in Liverpool we enjoyed our meal. Our server was lovely and as recommended the chowder was excellent. It's a nice place with a gift shop too.Service: 5/5
