I’m not sure why the rating is 3.7 ... it’s too bad because we almost didn’t rent from here just because of that. Everything worked well and was priced better than anywhere else. I know because I called everywhere in the Okanagan for this particular weekend all were either sold out or I felt the cost was not justified. Rent a boat is attached to the Delta Grand facing the yacht club. Very convenient location, and free parking on weekends in the library parkade which is a 3 min walk. Upon arrival we filled out the standard paperwork, then headed down to their own private dock. I liked that they had their own and you didn’t have to mess around at the public dock it is very busy there! I can’t remember his name the guy who was in the military in Croatia super nice and very chatty liked his mutual love for our country went over the boat with us. My husband has a licence so didn’t need much explaining. Mostly just going over the boat noting any damage so we aren’t held responsible when we come back. He encouraged us to take pictures or a video which I did. Normal type of wear and tear from use over the season was the only damage but best to make note so there are no surprises if he wasn’t there upon drop off, which he wasn’t so it was just peace of mind. Out on the water we all had a blast 7 of us. Bluetooth wasn’t working for music but we still had the radio. If your renting a tube I would recommend getting the 3 seat biscuit with back rest. We went with the 2 seater lie down and wished we hadn’t. They recommend it because of how many on board the 3 person wouldn’t perform as well. But it would have been better than all the face spray due to an attachment close to the 2 seater tube. I think we would have spent more time on it if there wasn’t so much water up the nose. I probably should have asked for a refund on the tube rental. All in all a great time on the water! The rental was $509 then add in all the extras, tax, gas, insurance and tube total came to $700.
I went out on a boat with my family for a few hours and we had the most fun. Before and after the time out we had the best service from the whole crew, especially Megan, Evan, and Chloe were a super great help. Even though we had never been on a boat before we got taught how and we had no problems. The kids had a blast in the tubes that we could rent right there for really cheap. The whole experience was great and cheaper than all the other places we considered. Would 100% recommend this place for any level of boating experience
We were in Kelowna for the long weekend and sought out a short term boat rental for 2 hours. They initially told us we would need to allot 45 minutes prior to our departure for a safety presentation and inspection but when we arrived as soon as they got our credit card pre authorization they sent us over the area to pick up the boat. Our drivers were given a quick 10 minute debrief on how to drive the boat and a quick overview of the exterior of the boat and we were on our way earlier than expected. The problems arose when the boat was returned. They claimed that we had damaged one of the propellers however we were not given a propeller inspection at the beginning of the ride and they only reported the damage to their office once we had all vacated the boat and left it’s location, a little sketchy to say the least. An older blonde lady from the storefront claimed to go and look at the damage and said yes we had caused the damage even though we had not done a propeller inspection they claimed we had. Every person in our 10 person party can attest that we did not get that opportunity. They were very rude about the additional charges and I can see now from the reviews that this is a common practice at this business. Even our hotel told us this is a common complaint, the owner is obviously just using this as a front to give unsuspecting tourists vehicles that have existing damage and blow through the inspections so he can have the costs recouped by someone else. DO NOT USE!!!
We had an amazing experience. They made it fun and comfortable. I also respected the fact that safety was their number one concern. They had to call it due to unsafe winds. I respect that in a situation like that! You guys were great!! Thank you
Doug and the entire team are top tier in their demeanor and equipment knowledge. Took a jet ski out and the process was straightforward and headache free. The boats were powerful, reliable and just a great experience overall. Looking forward to the next time I can get out on the water with Lakefront gear!!
Had great service! They made renting a boat easy, stress free and fun! For my family of five with three little kids. Definitely would rent from them again.
Wow ! Our family "staycation" was a success ! Amazing value & service ! From Start to Finish a Classy, well established Bricks & Mortar operation well positioned @ The Delta Grand Hotel. Cobalt boats and New 160 hp Kawasaki Jet skis are just some of their offerings. Tori at the front office greeted with a smile and Alistar provided us with a thorough orientation before we hit the water 5-stars !!!
Best value in Kelowna for boat rentals. The staff is extremely well trained when it comes to boating safety. A very safe place for your family. You can trust these guys. Always. Ty.
If your employees are going to be driving company trucks, you might want to have a word with them about severely cutting people off downtown while pulling a trailer with several pedestrians close by. Probably not great for business. You might want to fix those trailer break lights too.
Service at the rental centre and then down at the dock was exceptional. Shaun, Cody, Matt, and Megan were absolutely amazing. Their service and experience that they offered were second to none. Do yourself a favour and visit these people. You’ll have the time of your life!
