Just like other reviews say. The building looks sketchy from the outside. But the food was AMAZING! Staff was polite upon pick up and on the phone when ordering. They are take out only. Which is fine
Veggie fried rice was nasty... Veggie chow mein was good.. Btl was nasty.. Chicken balls ok but nothing special.. Poutine was gross. Spring rolls was like inhaling barf on each bite All this for 70 dollars You could tell the staff is burnt out. There is no trying here Run, run far away
A delightful surprise! The case doesn't convey the content. Went for supper on a Tuesday night. The restaurant looks like it was built in late-60's and not renovated since, BUT it does add to the charm. The place does have a strange musty scent like old cigarette smoke and vintage furniture. There are a few tables for 2, 4, 6. Most were circular. We ordered a dinner for two and two kids meals. Portions were generous and tasty. The wonton noodle soup was delicious. The broth was tasty and not overly salty. The eggrolls were crispy, and hot. The beef and vegetables on noodles we're fresh and not over cooked. Very tasty. The chicken balls were quite doughy but tasted good. The chicken fried rice lacked veggies and was underwhelming. The entrance and washrooms are not gear for mobility impaired customers but the tables are all movable. There was an abundant options of kids meals with standards like hotdogs, chicken fingers, fish&chips, grilled cheese. They have a very affordable buffet lunch on Friday and Sunday night.
As an explorer, here's my spin... Pulled into this town of wawa on a chilly evening and wanted a bowl of soup, was pleasantly surprise the wonton soup was semi authentic Chinese. Tasted pretty good. Egg rolls were good too. They close early 830pm.
Food is pretty good though I'm pretty sure they messed up my order as I had ordered a sezchuan chicken and I got some kinda chicken noodles
Ordered take out.I had fried rice with egg and scallop. Good, but the chop sticks were so poor they had splinters and cut my lip ,. For how many you give out I would suggest the restaurant buy better ones.
For a Chinese restaurant in a tiny town, we didn’t really expect such high quality of Chinese food. The food are tasty and not that greasy and salted, which satisfied my parents very much. The wonton soup is must have. The quantity are a lot. We ordered dinner for 6 but the leftovers could at least serve lunch for two the next day. The price is very reasonable. They only do take out orders so suggest to call ahead of time. The lady who picked up the phone spoke both English and Cantonese, very friendly. The location is right at the waterfront park. So we had a very delicious dinner at the best lake view picnic table. Our whole family are very happy with tonight’s dinner choice. Strongly recommend!
A gem in the rough...fantastic Chinese food.. want to say best Chinese take out I’ve ever had. Stayed at a scuzzy hotel on highway Highway 17 Hotel... stay away if you can on way through from Toronto to Saskatoon and we’re starving.. wanted something more substantial than subway, and being vegetarian, decided on Lai’s... veggie fried rice had nice chunks of veggies.. chow mein was tasty.. stuff I usually get in the city only tastes like the soy sauce you have to drown it in.. Lai’s had flavours.. definitely try..
Ordered a lo mein and veggie mix from here. The food tasted amazing. It wasn’t oily or heavy like I’ve experienced from other Chinese restaurants. It’s very rare for me to get onto my phone soon after eating to leave a review, but had to do this time as the food was amazing.
Busy little spot. Everything was good. Had chicken chop suey special for 1 and it was better than average. Calling in your order ahead is recommended.
