People waited 4hrs from when I first arrived. Nothing moved for an hour and I had to pick my kid up from school. Came back 1hr later other walk-ins give you an estimated time and was screamed at by the receptionist and told in a abrasive manner by the nurse they called my name 3 times.nnI returned expecting to not be seen if I missed my turn and repeated several times I would try another day when I had more time yet they continued to guilt me. I wasn’t holding up the line, my kid needed and I fully understood I missed my turn but I left feeling worse than I arrived. Triage nurse I saw was awesome but the staff there when I returned were rude.nnIt’s fair to say it was a long day for everyone but compassion or at least not act like elitist school teachers chastising your patient who did their time. I don’t feel confident returning if they are going to make me feel beneath them.
I feel compelled to sing praises to the the wonderful staff of this facility's Urgent Care Unit. From the receptionist who efficiently checked me in; to the Triage nurse who was kind & efficient and to Dr Brown who looked after me - Compassionate, excellent listening skills, efficent, thorough and great professional bedside manners. Best medical experience for me in a long long time. Thank you for choosing the professions you took. You guys are all good at what you do. We need a lot more of you.
What an amazing experience last night. The nurses and doctor were very accommodating and interested in making me feel comfortable. Without too much detail, I had excruciating migraine pain. I received treatment and a dark room almost immediately and the nurses and doctors allowed me to have a say in my own care e.g. what does and doesn't work. This is what urgent care should be about. Thank you again to the team there!
Went in for an ultrasound thinking I was having a miscarriage as I was bleeding at 6 weeks and a high risk pregnancy.nnLack of communication with staff from the beginning and zero compassion for the situation at hand which was really awful to sit with.nnI waited two hours with only 8 people in the waiting room and never got triaged.nnKept getting told different information from 4 different staff and treated me as if I was a nuisance from the moment I called ahead to make sure I could get an ultrasound done, which I was told I would be able to. Once I arrived, the story changed and I was made to feel inconvenient for requesting that I have one done.nnYour first job is to be a nurse, second is to show some compassion to your patients. They come hand in hand.nnA major disappointment and disservice on many levels. Will not go back here again.
To The Healing Hands That Cared For MennI just wanted the Urgent Care Team who took care of me on the morning of February 14, 2023 to know how much I appreciate your kindness!nThe moment I walked up to the entry from the greeter, to the intake receptionist, the nurse who took my vitals, even the nurses who did not care for me were attentive and welcoming!nMy vitals were taken in a way that I felt safe and cared for the nurse was sensitive, gentle and attentive to my needs. Dr. De Paoli was present, focused, aware and very compassionate.nHe explained what my health issue was and the steps needed to bring me back to a healthier state.nHe took the time to answer my questions. I felt heard and I trusted his care plan.nTo my surprise the meds that he prescribed gave me much needed noticeable relief right away.nI am on day two and this morning I was finally able to fall into a deep healing sleep and woke up knowing that I am in recovery mode!!nI am so grateful for the care and attention that I received from all of you.nThe gift of kindness from strangers when one is in a vulnerable state of health is the greatest unexpected Valentines Gift I could have ever asked for.nI am so grateful to all of you who work so hard to keep our community healthy!nnYour care kept my dignity intact.nThe individual care that was offered met my specific needs.nI was offered preferences.nMy care was personally tailored for my needs and I felt safe!nIsland Health may have to change the name fromnLadysmith Urgent Care tonThe Ladysmith Healing Center!nnBe well!nnSusann
