I was a student at ELJHS for about 1.5 years. Like most schools, it has its pros and cons. I would still be at ELJHS, but I transferred schools because at the time I felt like this school wasn’t the best option for me. Looking back at it though, I actually didn’t have a bad experience here. I also realized that this school is a lot better than a lot of other middle schools. The main reason why I left this school, however, is due to their limited flexibility. For example, the teachers here would generally make you just do everything on paper, not allowing the usage of a Chromebook. This isn’t really limited to ELJHS though. I went to Wolf Creek schools for nearly 10 years, and I noticed that it’s just a school division thing. If there’s anything Wolf Creek can improve on, it’s that. The staff at ELJHS also tend to have some overly strict rules in terms of things like hats, cellphones, etc. which is honestly a pointless game to play. In general, ELJHS definitely has some things they can improve on, as well as a lot of other Wolf Creek schools. Aside from that though, I didn’t have the worst experience at ELJHS. The teachers here are all quite nice and there is a lot of good extracurricular and elective activities to choose from. And I may actually return to ELJHS later this year. Anyways, if you’re thinking of sending your kids here, it is a good option that I would recommend choosing.
This school gets a solid four stars from me. The teachers are great and there are many extracurricular activities to choose from. However, there is room for improvement. From my personal experience, I can say the school has prevented a lot of bullying but a good amount of it slips under the radar. Also some of the rules are a bit strange. Here’s a little story. In the 2019/2020 school year around January, people started bringing sleds and skates to use at the nearby lake. I guess a higher up didn’t like this risk so they mandated helmets for all activities stated previously. So people followed the rules and brought helmets. And then the school banned it all together. I’m gonna take a wild guess and say that was the insurance company’s call but I’m not positive on that. The school also has a problem with heat distribution. In May and June, some of the classrooms particularly in the Ignis wing ironically could get so warm to the point where learning was impaired. In the colder months though, the school felt fine to me. Overall, it’s a wonderful school and I would recommend it to anybody who was interested.
Great school with wonderful teachers. A good environment for students to learn and prosper. Little to no serious bullying problems in the last 5 years.
Lot's of options and extra curricular activities to choose from. Some students aren't the best, lot's of hidden verbal bullying.
Great place to teach. Many wonderful programs are offered. Students are second to none.
Love it its my final year and for 3 years its been great
