I'm giving it 5 stars because the time there was stellar! We were treated like royalty. Everyone was warm and friendly and accommodating. As a Black queer couple, we are never sure what reception we will get when we arrive someplace. Rooms were clean, and everything was neat, but we were surprised by the old nature of the building. I was impressed that it is a family owned business, and we met the owner while there. That is a charm I can't get with a Hilton, no matter how fancy or well appointed. I would definitely return. The Bistro, however, needs a quick lesson on offering items that are subpar. Our bowl of fruit was well beyond rancid, and all of us tasted exactly two fruit pieces to confirm what we were eating was not a bowl of fresh fruit.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I booked the fireplace king room with jacuzzi, both were used and loved. The bed was comfy, lots of pillows, and the room was spacious. Great view from the room, and I enjoyed walking around the grounds. Everyone from the hotel I encountered were just lovely, helpful, kind people. The spa was nice, liked the sauna and steam rooms to use, and the relaxation rooms. Rowan, who did my massage, was delightful. The bistro on site had delicious breakfast each morning. And those breakfast potatoes I couldn't stop eating them. Nice location close to Ithaca without being in the middle of the hub bub. 10/10 would recommend. Will be back.
Despite the lack of snow and mild temperatures in Feb, the grounds at La Tourelle were gorgeous! We stayed in the barn where the kids loved the extra space and restored details. We were looking forward to a snowscape since we came all the way from NYC, but the natural beauty of upstate NY made up for the lack of snow.
Very friendly staff, clean and well decorated rooms evoke nostalgia for the original period of the hotel. The bistro offers excellent cuisine. There is a path behind the hotel that offers easy access to buttermilk falls state park - which has beautiful waterfalls and gorges. Recommended by others, this place was great. A brief drive outside of "downtown" Ithaca, we hit up the spa prior to our check in. Our room wasn't quite ready, and we offered a glass of wine as we waited briefly. The room was spacious and clean. The wood burning fireplace was great. We also did breakfast on location. Highly recommend!
Beautiful location, hotel, and room. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I can't say anything but good things and can't wait for the next time I get the opportunity to visit the area. I will definitely be staying there again!!Rooms: 5/5

As a Wedding Photographer, I've experienced many hotels and venues in our region, and I must say that La Tourelle is simply one of the best options, whether it's for an overnight stay, or your full wedding reception, you can't go wrong here. The vistas are fantastic, the rooms are spacious enough for a bridal suite to have plenty of room, and the kind staff are always so accommodating. If you are considering La Tourelle, for your Wedding or other big event, it is absolutely worth it.
Updating this review after our 3rd stay here. It just gets better every time! If you dream of escaping to a romantic apartment in the French countryside, you will fall in love with La Tourelle. Breakfast and dinner at the bistro are not-to-be-missed! The spa is a great treat to have on-site. It books up fast if you're looking for a spa treatment, but they allow you to use the sauna, steam, and relaxation room if you stay at the hotel. While you're there, grab a few of their house-made face masks! They're really special! The hotel is also very dog friendly! Original review: Lovely, romantic, relaxed, elegant vibe with an inspiring connection to the nature around you. La Tourelle is the perfect place to go for a pleasant and restorative getaway. The hotel is very clean, and the staff is friendly and engaging. The bistro is very well done, with cheerful staff and excellent food with many fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Highly recommend. Rooms: The rooms are romantic, incredibly clean, and have everything you need. The beds are comfy, and there are lots of pillows! Many rooms have balconies and jetted tubs. Nearby activities: La Tourelle is minutes from Ithaca Commons, Cornell University, The Botanical Gardens, waterfalls, hiking trails, antique stores, and so much more! Walkability: Walk around the expansive and stunning property or enjoy the hiking trails connected to the property. The hotel is happy to help you navigate the trails and will even pick you up at the end of your hike. Food & drinks: The food is exceptional. As I mentioned in my review, do not skip breakfast and get to the bistro for dinner if possible! The food is farm fresh and incredibly delicious! They also have lots of options to accommodate different dietary needs.
Had a wonderful stay at LA Tourelle. The room was well appointed, large and immaculate. We had a nice balcony with a lovely view. The staff was very friendly and helpful The hotel is centrally located just a short drive from town ,the colleges and several amazing state parks. We had spa treatments our final day and it was a great cap to a terrific stay. Would definitely stay again
