The restaurant was surprising. I mean, Google recommends it to me regularly, but I dismiss it because it just doesn’t seem like the kind of neighbourhood or general location that would have the kind of restaurant that the reviews and photos promise. This time I gave in because it seemed like the best option in the area of the activities planned for the evening. The moment we walked in, I was awed by the atmosphere. Very chic. And we hadn’t been there five minutes before the waitress offered to send their sommelier over to help with the wine selection. Shortly after that, I went to wash my hands. Even the bathroom was fancy. There were like six different kinds of fancy hand soap to choose from. The service was impeccable. The food was outstanding. It made me sad that we were the only ones there in the entire place, because this is a serious dining experience, and I’d hate to see this place go out of business.
We love Italian food and this is one of the best Italian restaurants we have ever been to. The service was great and they played a clarinet on Thursday night which made the wonderful ambience. The food is really amazing, strongly recommend: veal piccata; octopus and stuffed quail - this restaurant is really a hidden gem and the price is actually reasonable for what you experience.
We went here for our Anniversary. We walked in and we were greeted at the door. They sat us in the cool side booths. We started off with White wine and Red wine. Then, we had 2 appetizers: Bruschetta and Arancini. They were delicious. For the entree, I had the Duck confit cannelloni with a salad. I got my meal and it was the perfect size. While, we were eating a saxophonist was playing in the restaurant. It was a nice ambience. We would definitely come back! The staff were super friendly. The meals are worth the price. We had a great experience!
Overall. We enjoyed going out for dinner here. The atmosphere is nice and decor is elegant and tasteful. I love when expectations are surpassed by restaurants. The two appetizers were delicious. The meatballs were soft, juicy and cooked to perfection. The Arancini balls were tasty as well with the sauces that come with them. The main course was Pollo Osceno. It was slightly disappointing and honestly not worth mentioning. I would still recommend this place but stick to the appetizers.
Overall good experience at the restaurant. The Buratta plate: very blend, nit enough salt and balsamic glaze. Presentation was great The Caille: the truffle risotto was good but not wow. The caille was amazing. The best part of the dinner. Well cooked and the stuffing was very tasty. Unfortunately due to the shortage of staff or maybe due to lack of customer, i don’t know, they were missing a bunch of things on the menu. The ambiance was really nice. The servers were professional and really nice. Will probably not come back due to the blend taste of some food. But if you’re into wine, they have a huge selection.
Nice cozy place for some Italian food. Prices are fair and comparable to other Italian restaurants. Service was ok .. the dishes were generous and definitely filling .. I would probably go back if I’m in Ottawa
fresh, authentic, new, yummy, we all had pasta, chefs special and chicken parm. If your in the mood for Italian this is the place and the service was 5.
Went for birthday dinner on a Tuesday 7PM January. Food was good. Lots of tables for seating. Ambiance was good, but would have been much nicer if the fireplace would have been in function. Service was just ok. Kitchen closed at 8PM so had to rush to put our order in. Was not made aware that dessert should have been ordered also in advance ... so no birthday desserts for us that night.
I am giving this restaurant 2 stars based on the appalling service I received today. The place has only one small menu for the month of December which was news to me as they have a posted menu online but that's not what they offer and no options with the exception of the soup is vegetarian. I ordered the eggplant soup which was tasty and when I asked for the bill the server told me that she would charge for the whole menu which included mains which I did not order. when I corrected her she gave me attitude for not letting her know that I was staying just for the soup again they didn't have any vegetarian mains. The service soured my entire lunch and I will not be returning.
The food is by far the best thing about this place and I also have only good things to say about the service and the location! Our waiter was providing excellent service and was helpful with menu suggestions. Attentive but never overbearing. The scallops appetizer was perfectly cooked and beyond tasty and my shrimp risotto was nice and creamy. Deserts sounded amazing but I was full already, portions are very generous. Will definitely be going back :D
