Wonderful Italian food in south Scarborough! Good value , excellent service , friendly staff. The cooks care for their food it shows in their presentation and taste . Will recommend the breakfast ! Hash is so good !
Fri Nov 18, 2022, 6:30pm Delicious food, great service, fair prices We were greeted quickly upon entry by 2 servers. Our server that evening was friendly, kind, and attentive throughout our meal. She lit a candle at our table, which provided nicer ambiance with the lowered lighting. We got a cushioned booth, very cozy. There's a wall separating the sports bar area. It wasn't crazy noisy for Friday early evening. There was quite background music playing in the dining area. From our booth, we could view -but not hear- the TVs news & sports in the bar-area through upper panels of glass on the dividing wall. This is great if you have a partner/friend who doesn't want to miss the game, while dining. Cajun-Fried Calamari Appetizer: cooked just right. Tender, not chewy. Perfect to share between 2 adults. Tasty dip. Lamb Entree: delicious! Tender, moist, cooked to order medium rare, great assortment of roasted vegetables , flavourful mushroom gravy & mashed potatoes. *affordably priced Chicken Parmigiano Entree: Yum! Also tender & moist. Mozzarella cheese layer looked like it would be a bit heavy, BUT it was perfect! Served with roasted vegetables & penne pasta with marinara sauce. *Server offered freshly grated parmesan & grated pepper upon serving our entrees. *Cloth napkins when dining in Note: The side roasted vegetables help set their dinner entrees apart. Usually with a great variety of seasonal/root vegetables, plus carrots & broccoli. Also, not oily. Side dishes are often an afterthought at chain restaurants. You can taste the thoughtfulness & care put into each dish at La Scogliera. We've been repeat customers for several years. Highly recommend dining at La Scogliera to anyone near the Cliffside area! Vegetarian options: Salads, eggplant parmigiano, a variety of vegetarian pasta entrees, & vegetarian pizza Kid-friendliness: Kids' menu is available.
Great food and pleasant service : we really enjoyed the brunch and it was great suprise to find it in the community!
Italian restaurant Cute place to hang out in Slow service but friendly Food is okay Chicken Arrabiata Chicken pasta with Alfredo sauce Beef ribs and mashed potatoes Chicken soup Garlic bread
From outside it looks more like convenient store. Interrior is like a sports bar. They even have a separate menu with beers and wings... We found this place on Google maps after hiking through Scarborough beaches. Until we got our dishes we could not believe that we are in the restaurant. But our expectations were more than met. We had amazing paella and duck leg. We will definitely come back again to try pizza. Update 2022: We came back with kids this time. Unfortunately they do not have an outside patio anymore. But I must say, their pizza is the best in Toronto!
Came here for lunch do to the good reviews. Wanted a beer and some good food. Ended up going with the $12 lunch special, chicken parm sandwich and a butternut squash soup. First of all the bartender had no idea how to pour a beer admitted it too. And they ran out of Stella after one pint. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE IN ANY RUSH. They took 45 mins to get our food out, and 20 mins in between checking on us. The food was not good either, soup was definitely microwaved and the sandwich was super plain. Why do you put un ripe fruit with a chicken parm? Overall one of the worst lunch experiences ive had.
I recently visited La Scogliera Italian Cuisine and overall, it was a good experience. The pasta and steaks are excellent and I would highly recommend them. However, the lasagna had too much tomato sauce which affected the flavor, and the burger lacked taste which was disappointing. Another factor to consider is that the quality of the food can be hit or miss, but it always tastes better when the owner is present. The restaurant is located in a quiet area with not much foot traffic, making it a hidden gem. Based on my experience, I would give La Scogliera Italian Cuisine a 4 out of 5-star rating. Despite some inconsistencies with the food and the burger lacking flavor, the quality of the pasta and steaks, along with the great location, make it worth a visit.
Picked up takeout earlier this evening. Pricing and portions were reasonable. Server was friendly when I entered, and the restaurant was very clean. It's unfortunate the plaza is a bit run down looking. We ordered lasagna, shrimp penne and Italian sausage gnocchi. The lasagna was excellent. The shrimp penne was surprisingly spicy and also pretty good. The gnocchi was missing the sausage and I wasn't crazy about the rosé sauce. It was under seasoned and had an acidic quality to it that was a little unpleasant. We had a piece of tiramisu for dessert and the piece was large enough for 3 to share. It was a traditional tiramisu, and it was better than average. The bottom layer of lady fingers could have used more coffee soaked into them and the marsala cream could have used more Marsala wine and mascarpone cheese as it was a little light. Overall, it was a good experience and we would order takeout again
We got the pasta arabiatta and the pesto pasta and it's absolutely delicious!!! The portions are perfect. Really some of the best Italian food I've had in a while! Highly recommend it!
My wife and I decided to try La Scogliera for the first time on Valentines Day. So glad we did. We started off with a very nice bruschetta. For our entrees she had a shrimp and scallops pasta and I had the veal parmigiano. We often go out for Italian and these two meals ranked right up there with the best we've had. We had a half litre of a very nice Pinot Grigio which complimented our meals perfectly. To top it all off we were served by a lovely ray of sunshine named Narelle. Together....the food and our server....guarantee we'll return. Parking: Lots of free parking.
