Let’s start by saying yes 1000 times. This is an amazing restaurant. All the food is fresh and very delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service is excellent. It doesn’t matter if you dine in, take out or get it delivered, it will always taste good. The owners are so nice to everyone and always greet you with a smile. This is an excellent little gem in the city. You won’t be disappointed.
Great place! The eggplant appetizer is a huge portion! Delicious “homemade style” pizza. Very cozy ambiance and welcoming staff! Would like to come back and dine in; I have a feeling it will be like visiting Italian friends. :
Imagine we entered the restaurant at 11 pm to see around it closes at 11:30, while there was an ongoing birthday party with a sign that there is no empty tablebecause of the private party. The lady looked at our face and welcomed us with a nice smile. I could vividly read her eyes saying "let's not disappoint them". She kindly asked how many people are we... then prepared a table at the corner and added 4 chairs to it, and gave us a spot, as well as calling the chef, who had almost checked out! We ended up having a delicious pizza, and a superb experience! GOOD JOB! THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Extremely Gracious host. Went above and beyond to prepare a pasta which wasnt on the menu for the picky little one. Spaghetti tasted well and the smoked bacon tossed with olive and eggs added to the flavour. Pizza was awesome as well.
One of the best Italian restaurants in town. Tried the pasta and garlic shrimp which tastes so delicious. Would love to go back!
Very cozy Italian restaurant on Pape. Ordered the Spaghetti with meat sauce, it was amazing definitely try this place it has a great vibe food came fast and was exactly what I was craving tru authentic Italian food !
Very yummy, good quality, home cooked Italian food!!! Cute little restaurant and the lady working there is so nice! Got takeout meatball and veal parmigiana sandwiches, highly recommend both, they come on a soft baguette which was really good. Everything was freshly made and very well wrapped, still hot when we got home. Can't wait to go back!! Forgot to take pics cause yum
We went out for a lovely family dinner and enjoyed it immensely! The farm to table approach by the owners just adds a cherry on top! We enjoyed a delightful dinner in the charming and eclectic atmosphere of the gem of a restaurant. We enjoyed the Fettuccine Alfredo and the Veal Marsala enjoy that we decided to take home slices of the homemade Tiramisu and Cheesecake. What a wonderful dining experience!
Solid 4 stars. This is another installment in my mission to try all the "deluxe" or "combination" type pizzas in Southern Ontario. This is a good execution of a classic combination. No question the tops were plentiful and care appeared to be taken in its assembly. Two additional notes... there was a distinct smokey flavour probably from the bacon. Also I noticed a hint of spice from the tomato sauce. Possibly the chef can comment / confirm on these two aspects. Definitely at the top end in terms of price SM $16.99... see photo but like I said a good execution. Is it the best combination pizza in Southern Ontario, no Jim's Pizza in Trenton holds that title.
La Grotta has a cozy, warm atmosphere that makes you feel like you are home. I love the character and charm that the decor, knick-knacks and artwork add. The food and service are equally amazing. It is very easy to access from the TTC as it is only a 10 minute walk north of Pape Station. It is the perfect place for a casual or special dinner out, and the environment is well suited for sharing conversation over dinner.
