This place is a ray of sunshine, even more in the cold winter we can have here. First thing, the food is delicious. Second thing, the portions are perfect. Third thing, the staff /owner? is real nice. Fourth thing it's budget friendly at 13$ the main. I went there with a friend, I had the Arroz con pollo y guandule rice with chicken and peas/beans while my friend had the Bandera Dominicana "Dominican Flag" or Rice with pork and peas/beans. And since it's the winter/we just live to eat we shared 2 enpenadas,a chicken one and a beef one. Both mains were really flavorful, and I felt right back in the tropics at lunch with my family eating homemade food. It's that good. Really. Spices were well balanced, beans were smooth without loosing their shape, meat wasn't dry and the empenadas. Oh the empenadas. The pastry is flaky and the stuffing pairs beautifully with their "spicy" sauce, which isn't that spicy but if you want something spicier, just ask the staff!
Great food, reasonably price and tasty! The chicken, rice and peas with salad was delicious...The lady that served me was very kind and friendly. The interior was cozy and had an island flavour.. Highly recommended!
Fantastic place for a meal! We ordered the empinada combo and coffee. The combo consisted of 2 empinadas and a avacado salad. The empinadas were very flavourful, the meat was well spiced and seasoned the pastry crust was flakey! The avacado salad was also good, a good balance of avacado and tomato on a bed of leafy vegetables in some olive oil. The coffee was a good coffee, nothing to write home about but no complaints either. The prices were fair. Service was good and courteous. Decor was nice the restaurant had a good paint scheme and nice art on the walls. Seating was a bit tight but the space was small. Overall highly recommend.
#SoulFood #Foodgasms The above hastags says it all. : We visited this restaurant in August 2019 and just loved everything about it. The chicken echilladas were finger licking, the standard chicken plate was amazing, we tasted the best cooked chicken ever.. we concluded the meals with brownie which were again sould touching... it was experience for taste buds and senses.
Authentic, home cooked and delicious food. My wife and I loved it and will definitely come back when in town!
Delicious dishes and honest ingredients at this charming and unexpected little Dominican restaurant. Don't miss it if you want something different!
Great food and warm service! Nice atmosphere and reasonable price. Vegetarian friendly! Best cafe in quebec
Cozy place with some good options for lunch. Whoever is somewhat related to a Latin culture will feel a little at home in it.
Great coffee and tastiest empanadas - such flaky pastry and delicious filling! Home made hot sauce
The restaurant is located at the heart of Quebec City, and it's one the cheapest in the area. The food was delicious, we took the chicken meal. I liked the idea they have a limited menu, it makes the restaurant very authentic. The design inside was very great, simple and not exaggerated and the owner was nice and friendly. The only reason I didn't give a five is that I thought the portion of rice and salad they give was less than enough and the soups were a bit overpriced. Overall, I definitely recommend it.
