Cute small Mexican restaurant. I liked the food but I find them a little pricey! Nevertheless, tasty tacos! I put 4 stars only because I think that they could improve cleanliness a little. I found a knife under the chair I was seating and the seat was not exactly “clean” when I sat.
La cantina is a small restaurant in Downtown montreal. It has Amazing food and a great ambiance. The tacos were something else. If you like a good authentic soup their soup is a must try. Their guacamole is perfect. They have a very special item on the menu which is fried crickets and if you’re into trying something new and special, it is something to try. The prices were very reasonable and we’d definitely be back!
Authentic Mexican in the heart of downtown. The food is well priced and has amazing flavour. The local is quite large with ample seating for many tables. I would recommend making reservations to make it easy. I would come back for sure **LGBTQ friendly
We were a group of 9, hoping to reserve a spot in the evening but they apparently don’t take reservations after 5, so we went for a very early supper at 4:30. The service was alright, the margaritas and guacamole were exceptional. I had the cactus tempura tacos which lacked flavor. It’s too bad none of the tacos come with a side. My friends had the brisket and el pastor tacos - probably best to stick with these options. 62$ later and not really satisfied. Dietary restrictions: They had vegan and gluten free options. The cactus tempura taco was a vegan option.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Came twice in a week, I highly recommend the steak tacos and the shrimp tacos, the brisket tacos were also exceptional. They have a lunch special were you get salad/soup and churros with the tacos order.
Absolutely loved the place, we were seated at the back room in the restaurant and it was pretty nice. The best tostadas I’ve ever had. Highly recommended. Also my friends loved their shrimps. Best best best!!!
Tried their lunch combo: salad love the baked seeds, duck confit tacos, caramel churros. Such a lovely place hidden among the busy St. Catherine street.
Hands down the best al pastor tacos I have ever eaten, This is real authentic mexican food…not tex mex but the real deal! Our waiter was very friendly…the soup and fried tacos were also delicious. as were the churros!! I will recommend to family and friends.
Great little place downtown. Loved the drinks and the bean dip appetizer was amazing. Duck tacos were a bit salty for our taste but otherwise very good. The restaurant has additional seating in the back too which would be great for a group reservation.
Margarita was fantastic. Chips & Guacamole were also very good. Fried grasshoppers were fun to try, but unremarkable tasting. Fried beef brisket tacos were great. Not too noisy. Server was very nice!
