Had dinner here with a couple friends. There is a 20% off pasta special on Wednesday, and I was looking forward to trying out the menu. The portions were pretty small for the price to be honest, even with the discount, and I was left feeling hungry after my pasta when I usually have a pretty small appetite. My husband didn't really care for his gnocchi, the texture was fine but the sauce tasted like it was from a jar. The linguine vongole was pretty good, but the flavour of the thin sauce didn't really stick to the noodles that much so most of it ended up on the bottom of the bowl. The linguine with meatballs was devoured by my friends, and they were left feeling very full and happy with their order. The desserts were pretty good. The service was great however, and it's in a really good location to walk the beach before or after.
We had dinner here last night for the first time. The food was phenomenal! I was originally going to choose the seafood canelloni but our server suggested the daily special-the seafood lasagna-so I ordered that. It was SO DELICIOUS. We also ordered the meat lasagna and cheese toast, both were amazing. The pasta dishes had so many delicious cheeses and the flavours were fresh and exquisite. Highly recommend this place and we will be back!!
The pastas were amazing, everything else was okay. Our server was very friendly and nice, however the other employees were not very attentive bread did not come for a long time - we had to ask for it, manager never came to verify the specials we'd asked about. ALSO - I must point out that when they were shredding cheese for us, they didn't say "tell me when", they just stopped after a small portion of cheese. For a table of cheese lovers, this was not acceptable. We ordered the Arancini and they were the smallest we've ever seen, and they tasted just okay. For pastas, we got Linguine Frutti Di Mare, Penne Pugliese and Short Rib Pappardelle - all were delicious. On Wednesday, pastas are 20% off so we got a great deal! Overall, I would come back for the pastas.
I am pretty much easy to please but when you make my family wait for more than an hour to get a not-so-worth it meal, then for the first time I will rate you the lowest. You have reservation options via Open Table, if you really want to serve your customers, you would only take in what you can serve and nothing more. The only thing pleasant about this resto are the servers, 2 female servers, very good customer service. I think the owner was there too but for some reason he talked to everyone but us, maybe selective? But anyways, we tried it but for sure we won’t be back. If you have time to kill, then go here. But if you’re tired from work and would love to unwind and enjoy a meal on time, walk along Marine Drive and there are other decent restos there, like Washington Avenue, Aljebires etc..worth your time and hear earned money :
Small family style restaurant. Good portions as I wasn't able to finish my pasta. Pasta was fresh. The bread was average, and we only ate 1 piece each and left it. Service was average, the lady had forgotten our drink. I would come back if I'm in the area.Food: 4/5
First time here and although the decor is very dated and smells like moth balls when you enter, the food is really delicious, the bread was warm and tasty and our server Thomas was a delight!! We will be back to try brunch and maybe tea time… I had the chicken Marsala and it was tasty, the pastas and tiramisu also authentically Italian
We had one of our best experiences dining out at an Italian restaurant. This is my favorite Italian place in Surrey by far. The server, David, was very friendly and made our experience very memorable. We were amazed by how great the grilled calamari is!
A cute italian find right on white rock beach! Absolutely delicious. My bf and I ordered for pick up once and decided to come back for the dining experience. We got the bolognese & carbonara, with a la baia salad and calamari. It's our new favorite local pasta place! David and the staff are wonderful and lovely.
Great experience at La Baia this evening! My fiancé and I went out for dinner here for the first time and had wonderful food. We had a great bottle of red wine and pasta, and the bread was good too! Server was amazing and so kind! Very cozy ambience as well. We will be back!
La Baia is a refound classic favorite. I had not been here in years but now have come twice in 2 months. Both times there wad a nice selection of daily specials. The first visit I ordered short ribs, this time was gnocchi. Both times the food was delicious. The ambiance does not appear to have been updated through the years and looks a bit dated. The menu offers a good selection and good value.
