Usine 106U is an art gallery right off of Boulevard Saint-Laurent in Montreal. Before reading further, please note that I am pretty far from an art aficionado, so I'll keep this brief. As you approach the gallery you'll notice rather quickly the general flavour of art that is showcased at 106U. Much of it is experimental, pushes social norms, and is unashamedly bold. That being said, if you're looking for a piece that you can show your grandmother, you could also find a handful of more "tame" pieces scattered about. The gallery hosts the works of several artists, and the pieces are rotated weekly, currently on Thursdays afternoons around 17:00 when some of the artists may come in. Even if you don't plan on buying anything, (because the pieces aren't particularly cheap), drop by 106U for a little bit of out-of-the-box art culture.

Les vernissages au début de chaque mois sont de bonnes occasions de rencontrer de jeunes (et moins jeunes) artistes d'ici de tous les milieux. On ne doit pas s'attendre à une galerie aux murs blancs avec des oeuvres distancées. En effet, les oeuvres se côtoient de très prêt (1 po entre chacune). Peintures, dessins, sculptures, poupées, verges en bois et plus encore! Le maximalisme est au rendez-vous à l'Usine 106U! Le vernissage du mois de juin est le 7 juin à 17h. Venez faire un tour! (Je ne suis absolument pas payée pour écrire ça)

Un des meilleurs spot en ville pour des artiste visuel underground. J'adore.
