You know what? Where I live, I can choose between this hardware store or another one because they are very close together but I ended up buying from Rona+and here's why:nn1. Parking lot is amazing. I have a newborn and not only do they have multiple parking spots for parents with children, each section is VERY wide! They accommodate parents with young children. This has won my heart and I will always come here.nn2. The store inside is large and so are the aisles. I was able to use the shopping cart with baby in the carseat and she was napping the whole time.nn3. When I asked for help at the front, they had someone help me within a minute.nn4. The item I wanted, a stair dolly was actually only online which was fine. I ended up buying a $40 fire extinguisher. Safety first.nnThank you from the bottom of my heart Rona. You understand the needs of families.
UPDATE:nChanged my rating following an outstanding service fron Emrick Bolduc, manager. Mr Bolduc went out of his way to ensure that our freezer would be delivered earlier. Also apologized for his employee and did a follow-up. Will give them a second chance.n---------nPoor customer service from these people. Delivery scheduled for a specific date does not arrived. After multiple calls finally get a delivery date 4 days later. Call again and managed to have them deliver 1 day earlier. Call the store, get a very rude person telling me that if not satisfied he can cancel the order. No apologies or explanation as to why the original delivery date was not honored. After asking to speak with a manager was told that the manager will call me and just hangs up. Had the feeling that I was annoying him. Will not buy there again.
Judging by other reviews I’m not surprised with our experience.nnWe had gone in to purchase a gift on behalf of an ill family member. We were then notified the item was online only. The staff member had offered to process an online order, and this is where things go bad.nnThey were inputting all of the wrong informations on the wrong lines. And never verified with us to confirm they were correct. Another staff member had to come and shot them not to put the NAME into the ADDRESS field.nnThey then struggled to put in the payment details, which resulted in 3 transactions to my card, and the bank contacting me regarding a potential fraudulent purchase.nnAt the end of all of this they didn’t even provide a receipt or order number. They just wrote down a few phone numbers on a piece of paper. “If you have issues call here”.nnA few days later we go to the Ottawa location to see if they could better assist us. They were able to pull up the entire order history and print it out within seconds, confirming the only thing that was correct on the order was the phone number. Rona marked the purchase as fraudulent on their end and cancelled it without notifying us.nnThe Ottawa location rectified the issue and we ended up finally securing the item.nnI will never return to this location again.
Le Plateau Smart Centre Shopping Mall has lots to offer in terms of choices. It’s a typical one stop centre for all your needs. This RONA location is my go to for tools, and hardware needs. They are pretty well stocked though they may be lacking in some items at times. Overall I enjoy shopping here. Staff is pretty good.
