L'Affaire est Ketchup

Best meal I've had in Quebec. Very fun and funky little restaurant. They prove that you can make delicious food without a mega commercial stove. Service was perfect too. Really unique experience!

Disappointed with this place! The menu changes from the moment they tell it (you get really excited about your selection, ready to order), to the moment you are ready to order (your choice is no longer available 😣). It's small, crowded, loud (fans going), smokey and overly priced. Not worth the hype!

Absolutely amazing! Went to Google to find a restaurant for dinner while in Quebec. 4.7 rating is incredible so we decided to check it out. No menu for liquor or food. They read it out to your table from a blackboard in either French or English. Everything sounded so amazing but we finally settled on sweetbreads, loin of goat and lamb shank. Service was very attentive. Suggestions were made for wine to go with each course - excellent selections for both white and red. Great beer selection. The food was phenomenal. Sweetbreads we're perfectly cooked as were the goat and lamb. Lamb literally fell off the bone. Would highly recommend reservations as there are only about 25 seats. Only two seatings 6 and 830. You have to commit to being out by 8 if you choose the 6:00 seating. We chose 6 and there was only room for one walk in table. This was the food highlight of our roadtrip!

Outstanding ingredients beautifully created into an exquisite meal. We ordered the seasonal wild mushroom appetizer (exceptional!), Roasted eggplant, tomato salad, and lamb shanks. They are also ready to cater to vegetarians! We thoroughly enjoyed every dish ordered here. The atmosphere is busy and bustling but the waiting staff is polite, eager to serve and fast! I'd come back again and again! Reservations highly recommend. People were turned away at the door!

If you go to one restaurant in Quebec City, make it this one. Places like this do not exist anymore. The menu changes daily and is yelled out by the passionate and knowledgable Chef. You can yell questions back, if you have any. The ambience is more reminiscinent of your favourity local pub -- and cool and souful music is blaring, only highlighting that this is a place without pretense. L'Affaire est Ketchup does not need to stun its patrons with flashy décor because once the food arrives, you'll be blown away by its authenticity and loving preparation. The somnelier will also carefully help you pair your courses with a fitting wine and will not let you make a wrong choice. These guys are just too passionate to give mediocre advice. This place screams labour of love! L'affaire est Ketchup is a gem. Go, enjoy and giggle at the sheer entertainment value of it all! Thank you: L'affaire est Ketchup!
