Loud, drunk people walking by the room all night long. My room was 20 feet from a bar. Could hear conversation and music and drunks and night. There were crumbs in my bed. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Don’t stay here.Rooms: 1/5
1st time I stayed at this inn the heating was not properly working so ended up sleeping with my winter kit plus all the extra covers. There was no hot water to shower with in the morning too. 2nd time i stayed here, the heating system was on overdrive and it was 27'c in the room even with the windows opens. Internet choppy as well.
The staff are mostly very friendly and accommodating. The bar gets very busy and noisy. The restaurant serves a good freshly made pizza and lasagne. The rooms are utterly filthy and the bathroom is mouldy. In desperate need of a good clean and renovations.
Room was in the back.it was very clean with fridge microwave tv. The staff were really accommodating. We left window open when out walking the town. A septic truck was pumping out while we were gone room smelled like sewage. Would have been nice to know to keep window closed when staying in back. Plus side the kitchen had really good service, great food, and very very reasonable prices.
Very poor service at the lounge. Staff very aggressive when it comes to ordering alcoholic beverages. Went to pay my tab and confronted by Jeremy who said he didn’t like my tone. Problem escalated from there. My drink was empty for more than 20 minutes. Very bad attitude for all staff involved on the night of January 22nd. Being threatened to kick out, just because you are trying to order.
The Auberge Kuujjuaq Inn is always a lovely reprieve at the end of a long trip along the coast. The receptionist is courteous and professional and always has a warm smile. The family-style suites on the second floor are spacious and the smaller rooms on the first floor are cosy and comfortable. The restaurant meals are delicious and very generous in portions. I recommend their grilled chicken Ceasar salad!
I first stayed here when a fire closed the hotel in March 2018. When I returned in October it had not been fully recovered from. Repairs in the restaurant were ongoing so it was closed still. Broken doors had been patched rather than replaced. Aside from that, the hotel was excessively warm. Most of the upstairs rooms had their windows open yet in our room it was still 26 degrees Celsius overnight in mid-October!. There was also no hot water in the morning to shower, and the tap water ran slightly off-colour so we were hesitant to drink it. All of these were not issues the first time I stayed here. I had been looking forward to staying at the Auberge while in Kuujjuaq but for now will prefer the Coop Hotel as in other villages.
Rooms are nice if a bit spartan. Definitely enough space for 1 to 2 people. Internet is free and available but slow and unreliable. Breakfast is Simple but sufficient. Restaurant unavailable but coming soon.
I stayed here as a volunteer member of the Canadian Animal Assistance Team in early July. They really strive to provide good customer care and some of the staff really went above and beyond, like Barry, the general manager. Thank you for your hospitality to all the staff!
