We visited from Ontario and really felt like eating Indian food which was scarce in Quebec City and luckily found this place. The staff were extremely kind and accommodating of English speakers. The food was fresh, unique, tasty, and actually pretty spicy! The restaurant was sanitary and well decorated to fit the cuisine. The only critique I have is that some dish titles do not match the dish i.e. pani puri was served like dahi puri without pani. Other than that, nice little place to enjoy gourmet fusion Indian food in the city. Make sure to book a reservation because they do not take walk ins at the moment!
Great service with a charming atmosphere. These very tasty dishes bring you a fusion of Indian and Quebecer flavours. I think reservations via their site is mandatory and advocated since they have limited tables. The dishes are tapas style and sizes. I suggest you take 2-3 different main courses + one side dish per person so you can taste a bit of everything. They also serve a 'Menu de degustation' which is only applied to the whole table ask your waiter; they bring you about 80% of what's on the menu for the whole group to share. I highly suggest trying the momo dumplings, the Bharta eggplant purée, the palak and pork ribs. The star dishes in my opinion are the chicken achari tikka and the lamb bengale!
Excellent service and well prepared meals. Things were cooked on point. Just keep in mind, this is a fusion restaurant so do not expect traditional indian food. But the server told us in advance so all good
What an amazing dine-in experience it was. First of all, we tried a walk in and this place is always full. So make sure you reserve a table in advance. We did the same and went the next day. Then came Simon and Theo, and they are just amazing people. Simon helped us with some great cocktail suggestions and we tried the Indian mule and the Turtle. Both were fantastic but personally, the Indian mule stands out. Then we ordered the Pani poori it's actually dahi poori, vada pav, pakoras and again, all were amazing. Finally, for the main course, we had the Tikka masala made up of tomato sauce with mushrooms, cashew, almonds, etc. and rotis. This curry was out of the world. Finally, Theo offered us some on the house stuff as a nice gesture. So to summarize, a great place of Indian food made Quebec style with amazing and super friendly service.
Delicious and exquisite food. Its not a traditional Indian cuisine but more of a Indo-Quebec fusion. Its was a very pleasant experience. The service was outstanding. The server was very kind n explained the menu n the ingredients used. I wud definitely recommend all those who want to try something different. Looking forward visit again.
As other reviews state, this is primarily a FUSION restaurant not a pure Indian restaurant. Pani puri is not served with pani, for example. That aside, the food is great! The aubergine baingan bharta and dal tadka were delicious. The highlight was the vada pav, which tasted quite similar to what one would get in Mumbai. One issue is that the Chapatis are EXTREMELY small. My family of four had to eat sixteen chapatis to feel half-full - and each chapati costs $2. Please note that no walk-ins are allowed! You have to reserve on the website and you will be fined $40 if you do not show up for your reservation!
It was AMAZING! We got Pani Puri and a few cocktails. The Dal with Chapati and rice was amazing!! I would definitely come back here. Update: Went here on another day 'cuz the Dal was so good that we craved it again. Ordered the Jalebi Dessert this time and it was delicious.
All the plates we're tasty. The service was very nice and suggested some combinations that were great. We will be back!
Phenomenal! One of the best culinary experiences I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar and got VIP treatment from one of the owners Sam, who told us about the history of the restaurant and menu. The attention to detail and little touches made the experience even more memorable. The vibe, the lighting and the decor were all 10/10. Not to mention the food! The menu was a modern Quebec take on Indian classics all locally and seasonally sourced. A balance of flavours with perfect execution. The menu changes periodically but if these items are there, they are a must try: - turmeric tequila - Indian mule - pickle - palak paillasson And everything else literally, I can’t wait to go back!
I'm sure there are plenty of ultra high-end restaurants in Quebec city, but we love this small and cozy Indian fusion restaurant serving excellent foods. Service was great and the foods were even better. Started with pakora & mint chutney. The chutney was yummy. Then we enjoyed, perhaps, the best rendition of chicken tikka masala. The shrimp curry was great too. Then we ended our dinner with the chocolate tart flavored with chili, garam masala and chai. Just perfect! So far, it has been our favorite restaurant during our trip here in Quebec city. Although we are from Vancouver where there are plenty of Indian restaurants, we surely will miss this place.
