Kothu Labs
"Kothu Roti is a popular Sri Lankan dish made with roti, meat or veggie curry, egg, veggies & spices. Kothu means “to chop” in Tamil. To make a Kothu, we throw the ingredients on a flat grill & chop & mix it up simultaneously. At Kothu Labs, we experiment with & serve various Kothu dishes - beyond just the traditional Kothu Roti. We offer a variety of carb bases to choose from & have a range of protein & sauce options.Come in & dine us with us. Enjoy a few appetizers & drinks while we prepare your Kothu fresh on the grill. If you’ve tried our Kothus & need a change, try a curry bowl!We also serve vegan & gluten-free dishes & have a kids menu."

Beautiful place - I’m glad we found this on our trip. It’s definitely authentic. The beer gave the right kick, the food was finger licking good, the service was smooth - the server even suggested places to visit close by - in short we loved the place - what else we want from life. Me and my partner had a great time.
Came from Mississauga and had the chance of trying this little gem. Everyone working was so kind, the ambience is great, the food was phenomenal! The beef kothu + the chicken roti sandwich were so yummy! Would definitely come back + highly recommend if you're in town. They're one of the only restaurants open later in Perth!
Went to Kothu Labs for dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant was quite empty. The first thing that the waitress told us, was that a whole series of appetizers were unavailable. A blackboard said they served pizza. They had run out of cheese. Another couple came in and left after they were told of the food unavailabilities. They had run out of curry as well. We ordered two beer and two plates of wings. We waited over 25 minutes even though the restaurant was almost deserted. The wings were $17, and I got 9 tiny wings. The total bill taxes and tip was $57 for a few wings and two beers. I tipped the waitress 15% because it wasn't her fault. We had to go to the french fry place across the street and order fries because we were still hungry. We could have had great food at the fry truck fish & chips, burgers etc for half the price. Not going here any more.
Beyond delicious. There were flavors here that I've never experienced before. I want to go back and try everything on the menu. Then again, I also want the exact same thing I had this time. The lentil donuts are legendary!!
A Total Gem that was worth the drive to Perth. Food was absolutely flavourful and amazing. Service was fantastic. The ambience is just incredible. Absolutely enjoyed everything. Walked away stuffed. Can't wait to go back.
As the name goes, this place has some really good Kothu served! We drove 80kms to have the food and just weren’t disappointed. The restaurant is very easy to spot and is very clean. Love the ambience. It had a very warm and cozy feel to it. They have ample seating space and both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are very friendly and go the extra mile to get their customers comfortable. Ashwin, who served us was externally friendly and helped us pick the right dishes. All in all, would defiantly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving for some good Indian/ Sri Lankan food!!
We ordered chicken kothu and veggie pizza here. Here are our impressions: 1. Kothu was somewhat tasty with good flavors however I think it is nth beyond rice with chicken. Plus, The portion is so small that you may need to order two of them which would be costly. $23 for something that will not fill you in. 2. Pizza was undercooked, and sauce was nth but a tomato paste. Even pizza hut can do better than that. We liked the fact that the manager asked our opinion about the food.
Drove out of the way to try this place, tried the chicken roti …. $20 plus tip for this is a joke. A meal like this in Toronto is $5-7 but this place inflated the price. I was fine paying this price because I thought the food would be great and maybe fairly sized but instead it was just really roti with a couple pieces of chicken and then 15 pieces of fries. I couldn’t believe it, I was going to return the food and ask for a refund but I was just annoyed by the whole situation.
Love that there is Sri Lankan food in Perth!!! We ordered egg kothu and a veggie pizza. Personally, some things that could be improved is more roti in the kothu, ours came a little too veggie heavy and watery. Could also amp up the spice/heat eventhough we asked for extra spicy, but get that their average customer probably enjoys the heat as-is. The wood-fired veggie pizza was good, but don't think they make the pizza dough/crust from scratch. Overall we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Loved the live music and our server was friendly. Would come again when in the area.
The moment we arrived the staff was welcoming And courteous. We loved the dishes and presentation. Kothu and seafood platter was on point. Thank you will be back soon
