A quaint little spot in the Pickering Village courtyard with some very clever tapas spins on Korean and other delicious Asian-inspired foods. Great sushi pressed and otherwise, excellent spring rolls - and don’t sleep on the kimchi & bulgogi poutine - so good!
Nice take out experience. Quality was good. However portions were quite small. Amount of fish was inadequate compared to comparable sushi places in the GTA. The slices on the sushi were very very thin. Display of sushi tray was esthetic, lots of filler garnishes.nUnfortunately my husband and I are still hungry.
Attended this place based on reviews. As east of the GTA is hard to find good sushi places.nnThe restaurant is a little hard to find as it's tucked inside the square.nnI attended around 630pm midweek and was the only customer. The atmosphere is a little dated as the building and surrounding buildings are quite old. The service was great, since we were the only customers inside.nnThe food menu isn't what typically I see in other restaurants. With sushi boats or handrolls. It does appear more whitewashed and catered to locals Pickering/Ajax rolls.nnThat aside the quality of fish received was fresh, rice was nice and not overly used. The squid was nicely cooked. Only the shrimp in one of the rolls I found overcooked, but didn't bother me. All the portions were fair, and nothing was skimped on.nnOverall the visit was pleasurable, and the price at the end of the meal was also fair. A bottle of hot sake was also a nice touch to everything.
I love the sushi and sashimi. It was very fresh. The staff is very friendly and sweet. Definitely gonna visit again to try the torched sushi!!
Great place in durham for sushi! The service was fantastic, we were greeted right as we entered and they prep’d a table soon after. Their spicy salmon was top tier along with their torched sushi. Im not in durham alot but im glad to know there is a great sushi spot in the area : will definitely be back
