Modern decor, comfortable seating & friendly staff. Soup broth were packed with flavor, noodles were alright but a little skimpy on the meat few thin slices in each bowl. We each had to pay an extra $2 to add the eggs to what we considered an already expensive bowl of ramen. The Advocado Vegetarian Ramen had a creamy soup that coated the noodles and was super yummy!
No draft beer available on the day I visited. Price is a bit high but the seating is comfortable and no need to wait in line. Great service, always fill water for us. Soup base is flavourful and not overly salty. Ramen texture is great! It’s in the thin side but still chewy when I’m half way through. Will revisit again!
I have been to Konjiki twice in Hong Kong. This is my first time having Ramen in Toronto and picking Konjiki again is to compare the taste on both sides. So how was it? Taste Wise: both sides are great, up to standard, you can taste the shellfish dashi flavour especially if you had the clam shio ramen. They also have the porcini mushroom paste here however, the fragrance wasn't profound compared to the HK counterpart. Also, they have truffle oil for clam shoyu ramen in HK which they didn't have in Toronto, but still they both taste great and enjoyable. Price wise: in Hong Kong, they only have one sizeregular size, you can choose super size in Toronto. The regular size in HK is the same price as the Super size here. Snack wise: there are more choices than in HK. I recommend the tofu nuggets, silky tofu mixed with chopped veg then fried, crispy outside, soft inside, excellent combination, and Squid wasabi if you are more adventurous. Atmosphere: Here is more relaxing and laid back compared to the one in HK which is located in a high end office building in Central.
Chicken Karaage was okay but a little too salty. Shio Ramen was good but a little off from my expectation - I can barely taste a bit flavor of clam as advertised in the menu. Tonkotsu soup was creamy and tasted okay and noodle wasn't too bad. Overall the food were good but not too impressive At this price I can get a much satisfying ramen from a few other ramen shops in the area. We enjoyed the environment and the table services. The bowls and dishes are printed with the name of the shops. That gave me a good feeling about the passion of ramen from the owner. I look forward to a great bowl of ramen on my next visit.
Right off Hwy 7 in the back of a small square adjacent to Tom Hortons. Non descript store front but when you enter surprisingly a nice modern interior with table and counter seating. Ordered the clam shiyo ramen and pork bone broth pork ramen. You can really taste the clams/ocean in the clear soup while the pork bone soup was a thicker creamer consistency. Both ramen were flavorful and filling. Minus 1 star as any additional topping will require an extra charge eg. add Egg $2 Also ordered the Tako wasabi, raw octopus with wasabi and seaweed, I've had this in other places, this one so far is my favorite. All in all, an unexpected nice dining experience.
2022 October 4 Located in a decent size plaza, you'll stumble across this Japanese ramen restaurant. Nearby, there's another ramen restaurant as well, so certainly there's demand. Konjiki ramen isn't bad. The broth is flavorful, the ramen has the right texture and the toppings are standard. The pork belly "ChaShu" is ok. Mild flavors. Clam Shiso Ramen $16.50 Great clean broth with good clam flavors. Original Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen $20.50 super sized. Rich pork flavored broth. Spicy Red Tonkotsu $16 Same pork broth, but with chilli oil and ground pork and beef along with the "chashu" Chicken Karaage $7.50 Japanese style Deep fried chicken in a light batter. Hints of soy and ginger. 5 pieces. For the price, it's ok. The sizes of each piece was ok. The flavors itself wasn't bad, but others do it slightly different and crunchier. Overall, this is isn't a bad choice for Ramen. Ample free parking.
Konjiki Ramen is my favourite ramen spot, and this was the first time that I've been to this location. I got the usual Clam Shoyu Ramen with a half-boilled egg add-on. It was delicious as usual! Nothing else that I can say about my favourite spot. Another visit: Came here again to try out their Spicy Red Tonkotsu ramen supersize, with some gyoza and chicken karaage on the side. The gyoza and chicken karaage were really yummy, and they were hot and fresh! The spicy red tonkotsu ramen was really good, the broth was spicy and creamy. The bowl had some veggies, minced beef, green onions, and chashu. I'd come back to get it again!
Get to try various finger food by ordering Appetizers Platter especially 1st visit. Ramen is great especially the broth. Will attempt their spicy miso when return.
$45 was our total bill Foods ordered: shio ramen + egg, tonkatsu ramen super sized Reason for rating: good ramen here but points taken off for a couple of things. The pork here is paper thin, gotta order some sides to keep you and your s/o happy and full. You also need to pay an extra $2 for an egg here. Most ramen shops if not all always include it in the ramen. I enjoy how the soup wasn't overly salty too. Karage was good.
Was told that the clam shio ramen was a must try but my friend and me both agree it was a let down. Yes, the base is clammy just wondering where the actual clams are? and not enough ingredients...a soft boiled egg is pretty standard in ramen so it's a shocker that it's not included and you need to pay for $2 for it. Also, the noodles weren't great. Not springy and ramen-like...reminded me of spaghetti. We took the standard size bowl of ramen and found it quire small. My other friend the donburi and he said it was mediocre. Also, the staff were friendly but young and inexperienced. We had ordered appetizers, yet they served one of us our main, then the other mains came 3 minutes later, then the appetizers came last.
