Good Asian fusion joint. If I have to match an Asian fusion equivalence of Cheesecake Factory, this place would be it. All of our food was great and the Scorpio bowl was relatively strong. The salmon avocado roll was very good. The salmon was very fresh. The yellowtail scallion is standard. My favorite dish is probably the Thai wings since it was super crunchy and crispy. The toppings for it went so well with it could do with a sauce though. Rock shrimp salad was also good. Price is a smidge high but we knew that going in. I would recommend sitting inside because we kept getting bees while outdoor dining.
The dinner of my dreams! The tempura shrimp was out of this world! The plates are huge and filling and the drinks are insane! The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff was super friendly. Such a fun and awesome night. My wife and I can't wait to go back!
Good sushi and hibachi place. First time here and we ended the time and food! Food was delicious. Fresh fish. Good atmosphere inside. People are nice. Prices are slightly higher than usual.
For the first time and celebrating my nephews wedding the atmosphere was so relaxing staff was very professional and friendly. The food was phenomenal delicious and prices are reasonable. I would definitely come back again. Thank you Manager staff and cooks for an excellent service.
They hold a special place in my heart. My fiancé and I had our first date here. They never miss on the sushi. While I love them, the only reason I am giving a 4 star is because I have had better sushi elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean it’s not good sushi or habachi here. I still stop in from when in the area.
Recommendation: Lychee Martiny, Spider Roll. . Detailed review: Today my wife just finished her GMAT and the score makes her happy. She asks me to go out for dinner and willing to be a sponsor for the dinner. Now I am happy too So I decided to go to this restaurant. We passed this place many times but never have a chance to get in. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30, and there were many available tables. We ordered a Lychee Martiny and a Maitai for drinks, a Fuji Mountain for Starter, Sashimi Entree, and a Spider Roll. - Lychee Martiny: it's good, sweet, I like it. - Maitai: it's okay. You should not expect an excellent or exceptional Maitai. - Fuji Mountain: they dressed it with Mayo but for me, I'd like less Mayo. So I suggest that you should share the dish. It's good, but if you eat it alone, you may feel a bit boring at the end. - Sashimi Entree: a few pieces of sashimi are very fishy in a bad way and appeared not to be skinned as well as they should be. Definitely not authentic as the restaurant is a Chinese place in disguise of a Japanese restaurant. The sashimi here is served with rice on the side and picked radish, and is plated on grated carrots instead of traditional white radish. Overall is good except for the yellowtail - Spider Roll: this is the best dish overall. It's crunchy and good. So for the food, I give it 4/5. Service: 5/5 friendly, attentive Atmosphere: 4/5. My leg room is a bit small. I sat at the booth, but I accidentally hit my wife's leg many times. When you get in the restaurant, you will see that they have the same theme with Tao Restaurant but not that luxury yet. . I think this restaurant is good for a regular dinner. If you have a special event, I'd recommend you to try out other places that I've reviewed.
Koma knocks it out of the sushi boat.. No really they have the largest sushi boat I have ever seen. Something that's really important to say about sushi that is the fish was very fresh! The flavor combos on the pieces were spot on. I've had regular sea salt edamame but tonight they add just a little chilli jam to them Also I discovered a new favorite thing The Rock shrimp which is tempura shrimp with homemade spicy Japanese sauce. Also sampled some Gyoza Japanese style pork dumplings. Yum yum Then the entertainment of the Hibachi started. They brought out the big guns like fresh lobster tails, scallops, shrimp and steak. Of course you had your rice, lo mein noodles and veggies. Fun Hibachi Cooks come out and entertain you! I got to say I love that they use a lot of fresh garlic!!! I washed it all down with a Blue Margarita and a mojito!!
Thank you Ming and Brandon Lee!!! Best Hibachi to date! Love that they serve rice and noodles at the Hibachi Grill table. Delicious Sake. Service with a smile!!
If Hibachi had a standard, and is the 'expected experience' Koma kinda nails it. This place is great, and if it's your first ever time having hibachi, this place is awesome; if you want a more superb experience - check out Sakura Glastonbury or South Windsor. Service: - The hibachi cooks are always fun, throwing veges at you or spraying sake in your mouth, you'll get your typical hibachi entertainment here! - The waitress we had was very accommodating and she seemed new; you could tell she was trying her best and was very attentive. Though she spilled a drink, it was completely understandable it was extremely crowded at that specific time. - Waitress ran out to my car to make sure the tip I left was correct, that's crazy! In a good way! Food: - Food is pretty good, I was a bit upset with how little lobster tail I got. The steak could have been more rare for what I asked for, but all the food was quite comparable to Sakura, it's all done in front of you so what you see is literally what you get. - Hibachi includes rice of choice, meat, salad OR soup. Most Hibachi places I have been to offer salad and soup. - If you like noodles, YOU MUST add the noodles to the hibachi dinner $3.95? extra; The noodles are almost a must have for any hibachi dinner - these are not your normal noodles trust me. - Use the YUM YUM sauce, it's almost liquid gold. - Quantity is in no despair, you will probably go home with leftovers. You can easily portion to 2 meals. - At about ~$35 for a hibachi dinner, it is a bit steeper than other hibachi dinners, especially with a combo dinner, but ~$17.50 a meal, that's not bad! Drinks: - I had the Samurai drink; and while I really don't like gin, it was actually really good. Imagine a 7-up or sprite! Other: - It may be quite loud for younger kids and especially toddlers/babies. - No birthday celebration :
The decorations and staff were excellent. You can tell they have poured lots of resources into everything from the moment you walk into the door. This is your typical hibachi experience you can find elsewhere but in a different setting. Their alcoholic drinks were very well made and I decided to get the steak and chicken that comes with noodles and veggies which was some of the best hibachi food I’ve ever had. Koma wasn’t a 5-star for me due to the unbelievable amount of waiting we had to do for my first time there. We made reservations in advance for 7:30 and we didn’t get seated and start eating until 9:00. It threw off the rest of our plans, and their excuse was “too many people came in at once.” Besides that, I’d definitely recommend Koma to friends and family.
