Koichi Ramen in Ottawa's Chinatown is an absolute delight and a hidden gem. The cozy atmosphere and charming decor create a welcoming and intimate dining experience as I went there for dinner. I was particularly impressed by the ramen—it was flavorful and cooked to perfection, making it easily one of the best I've had. The chicken dish I ordered was equally delicious, with tender and juicy meat that was packed with flavor. The same can be said for the croquettes.nnThe service was excellent, with the waitresses being attentive, friendly, and pleasant throughout my visit. Although the restaurant was not too crowded during my time there, I can imagine that, given its small size, it could fill up quickly during peak hours. Despite that, the overall experience was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my time dining here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a cozy atmosphere in downtown Ottawa.
Came here for dinner and was able to get seated right away. Service was great and the food came fresh and quick. Definitely try the squid appetizer and pork belly. We ordered the koichi special and it did not disappoint either. Bonus is the wasabi mayo; everything was great, would definitely come back.
Had lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered Shoyu chicken broth with chicken and curry with vegetable broth with tofu and both are yummy. The service was good with a neat ambient atmosphere inside.
My partner and I came many times cuz we love the Black garlic Kontotsu here, never make us disappointed. However, today on December 15, 2024, at 5:58pm, I had a terrible customer service experience, we sat down and ready prepared to order our usual order, and told the lady we were ready to order when she passing by. She told us to give her a second before taking our order, later on I heard her and her colleague, loudly talking about us behind our back, at the cash, so I turned around and look at them and they look at me and immediately stop.nToday was already a long and rough day of travel and we just wanted to enjoy our favourite food, and this experience made our day even worse.
Takeout from Ubereats. Reasonably well packaged. Nicely presented despite it being on the go. The noodles were a little on the harder side - I had heated up the soup before I added the soup into the ramen. The egg was nicely done. Overall satisfied.
