Overall, price is decent, the place looked clean, food tasted mediocre, seasoning was not proper, service was slow, and please do not order ddukbokki here. Worst I ever had. Kimchi fried rice was decent enough and a big portion. It was too salty but tasted like a home cooked food. And now ramen ddukbokki. This was more like ketchup soup. I had to sent the first one back because it was SOUR. The second one was a bit less sour but very very very ketchup ish. Ddukbokki should be Not pleased at all. The service is slow and not really there. After serving the food, the server didnt come to ask how everything was or filled up the glass. There were 2 other tables when we came in, so it was not busy either.
The food was great! I got beef bibimbap and another beef dish and they were both delicious. But what even better was the server. Try your best to go on a weekend bc he is cute, sexy, hot, and very kind. Plz let me know if anyone here knows his name, phone number, and his favorite dish. Great service!!!
Lunch: Kimchi Fried rice w Beef, Crispy Potato Croquettes n Korean Sausage on a stick can't recall name. Fried Rice came w a fried egg on top; could've used more beef but it was good n not too spicy as I expected cuz of the kimchi. The croquettes were delicious - potato w peas n small bits of veggies fried crispy golden not dark like my pic looks. I didn't care for the sausage but the breading on it was good.
A very decent restaurant! Although no the best Korean place I've been at, it definitely was good as of itself. Their serving portions are very sizable - one of these dishes could be enough to serve 2 people! Their Kimchi pancakes are a must get! they taste amazing. Dolsot Bibimbaps are huge but an amazing eat as well. I had the omelette rice, which was a huge omelette with a side sauce capping Korean fried rice. It was an amazing meal, but too big so it became repetitive 3/4 of the way through. Nonetheless, this Korean spot is great for a casual eat!
I’ve been to this spot many times over the years. Though it has changed hands and names and internal layout, it’s always been Korean food. I visited for lunch around 1:45 pm today. I came to satisfy my Bibambap craving, and it was only partially satisfied. I first sat down at the window seating, and was then told that no one is allowed to sit there. I asked why there were no signs to indicate that and my question was laughed off. No matter, I was given a menu at the table. I picked and then I needed to go visit the front register to order. Also a bit strange for a place that automatically includes a 15% gratuity to all orders. I ordered the beef bibambap and it arrived cold and with hamburger. I have since googled and learned this is not out of the ordinary, but it was surprising since it’s always been hot and with bulgogi every other time I’ve ordered it. I guess I should have asked? It was just ok. Sort of flavorless. It tasted better when I brought home the extras and microwaved it. I think this place will taste better in my ancient memory.
A cozy comforting place of good food. The portion sizes are sufficient for two meals. I like the mozzarella cheese corn dogs here as they're a good to-go quick filling option.
Absolutely love the meals as I have been craving Korean meals! The music was a variety of great music including jazz covers from a video game artist. It's a nice local joint in downtown Evanston that I would recommend this to anyone in the area! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options which is always welcome!
They have really delicious korean dishes here and very generous serving. The seafood noodle was good and the beef bulgogi was tender and flavorful. You can also ask for a side of kimchi which I would say stole the show with generous serving also and spicy. We also love the kpop songs they were playing.
I ordered food through DoorDash. I ordered food that was 100 dollars! The food is terrible. They didnt give me 2 of the items i ordered. The taste is under- seasoned and very disappointing!!! It is not authentic Korean food!!! Do not eat from here!
Went for a quick bite of wings. Service is good, and the wings were ok extremely crispy but not a lot of sauce and flavor inside the wing. The place itself is small and cozy. There a bunch of really interesting dishes there. Will come back to try it sometime.
