This campground is beautiful! Big trees with lots of shade. Campsites are a good size with services easily accessed. The decks on each site are wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Campground is close to lots of amenities- ice cream, restaurants, zoo, shops, market. The only issue we had was the power went out on both Sunday and Monday morning in the whole park but it came back on quickly. We had a fantastic weekend and will definitely be back.
First time camping with our new trailer and it was a great experience. The grounds including the bathrooms/showers were clean. The people who run it are very friendly, polite and they were willing to help us with a bit later check-in then we expected. The spots are well marked with water/power/hydro very well marked and easy to spot. We will definitely be back for longer next time. We have a pup, and they were very welcoming to her.
Stayed here on perhaps the busiest weekend of the year. I will not return. Lawns are scrubby, bathrooms smell and the septic was overwhelmed. Field camping: no trees or shade. This is a party place: the kids will be up til midnight with the loud music and parties. We left a day early. Good things: Pet friendly. Pool. Wagon rides for kids. My 7 yr old loved it,but could not sleep at night with the noise. He could ride his bike around the park and it was safe. It's a ten minute drive to the beach, but there's no beach here at the park.
Great staff, always friendly and helpful. Met some really awesome campers there and we look forward to every visit. The RV sites are large, pull through and full service.
They were very pleasant, however, I thought the grounds were disgusting. Lawns were not maintained. Not cut or trimmed. Most of the seasonal camp sites were junky and dirty. The garbage area was disgusting as well. I was afraid to take my garbage there. During our trip we had visited other campsites including a New York State park. It's like night and day. In New York it was impeccably clean and groomed. So much more pride. Since I'm Canadian, it's kind of embarrassing that our parks don't compare. In New York it was half the price as this one, however it didn't include the same amenities. But still. As well, I didn't like the fact that the sites faced each other. No privacy.
Stayed here for a week. Campground was nice and clean. Staff that checked me in was horrible. I emailed that I wasn't going to make it on the first day that I had booked, but I wasn't changing my booking. I just didn't want my site given away. They ended up changing my booking and then tried to charge me an extra $75. I brought this to her attention when I was checking in and she told me they changed the booking because they were going to try to sell my spot for the night that I wasn't there. There wasn't anyone else in the Campground!! She reluctantly only charged me what I was originally supposed to pay. After that didn't even say hi when she drove by on her golf cart. Said hi to everyone else except us. Just RUDE!!! I'm glad I won't have any reason to stay there again.
My family and I had an amazing time!! We stayed for a long weekend, and we will be back!! The owners are amazing people!! Very kind!! We met some amazing folks here! The washrooms are extremely clean. The showers are free, and you get hot water and with great water pressure. They have a little pool,BUT followed CoVid 19 regulations. Only allowing 10 in at a time. You have to book the time you would like to go swimming, which works out great. They have extremely kind seasonals, which makes the whole park welcoming. Thanks for having us!! See you next yr!!
I have recommended this place to hundreds of friends but after COVID the have sold the place and is now owned by a franchise that is pushing all kinds of new rules and kicking people like us that has been camping every summer there and the place where we all saw our kids grow up it have changed and possibly none of will be go as we used to.
Stayed here over Canada Day long weekend. Sites weren't bad, we were camping with others so it was nice to be able to be close to eachother. Issues with the pool: because of the large volumes using the pool it became cloudy and so it was closed early on the Saturday evening. No notice posted. We went to take the kids swimming after dinner and were met with a closed/locked gate. We decided to go swimming when the pool opened the next day in case the same thing happened. We were in the pool 20 mins, when the elderly gentleman who I presume owns the business came in and because a family of 8 wanted to come in and use the pool we were told we needed to exit the pool in 10 mins. Pretty upsetting, given the events the night before and the fact we had just arrived. Incredibly disorganized. Perhaps using a pool sign up for hour time slots might be a good idea in future. Wandering children & loud music: excessively loud music played all weekend. I don't mind celebrating at all. But when I have to yell for the person 2ft away from me to hear me it's a problem. I spoke with the woman at the store who said what's the big deal let people have fun. Yes we'll no problem like I mentioned I don't have an issue with anything except for how excessively loud it is. We are usually very easy going people. There were always children unattended wandering onto our site. At one point a child approximately 10-12 months old wandered onto our site. Was there for at least 30 mins while we supervised him. He came way too close to the fire at one point, shortly after that a family member showed up to claim the little one. All in all if you are looking for a place where quiet hours aren't enforced, young children wander onto your site frequently unattended and the pool may or may not be open this is your place. For a family such as ours looking for a relaxing spot it was not suitable at all. Perhaps I should have read the other reviews noting similar experiences before booking.
Love this campground!!!! Definitely There was hot water in the showers, very clean bathrooms, pool was nice, very friendly staff!!! Highly recommend!!!
