I had never been there before, took my grandson for a visit. We were not disappointed, they had all sorts of great displays of the Ellensburg area past and present. But beware of the doll room it's kinda spooky with all of them just looking into your soul. I was just waiting for one of them to start turning it's head.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

This place is great. I wanted to check it out before a brought all my kids and the littlest one loved it. Theres hands on areas and fun exhibits for everyone.
What a nice little museum. Very thorough. Learn about the history of Ellensberg, about native Americans and other things like war times. The museum was free but did leave a donation.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

Great museum. Really low key- it was pretty quiet when I went. They have a huge variety of exhibits from indians to settlers and so on; I was honestly surprised at how much stuff they had. There are multiple interactive exhibits and a small children's area, but be aware that the majority of them are not to be touched, being original donations and all that.
I love to do road trips where one stays off the interstates, wanders through the small towns, and hit every small local museum one can find. The Kittitas County Historical Museum is a great example of why I so enjoy these adventures. These museums tell a local story, unique and individual, but at the same time they tell the story of America. And one just never knows what one might find. This museum had a fine collection of a huge variety of items. We had a blast exploring that and I took a ton of pictures. I will include as many with this review as Google will allow me.
I think anyone who visits Ellensburg should stop in here. Small but has some of the most amazing things from the past. They also have a very fun scavenger hunt for the kids. They have a nice selection of local info books and a few cute souvenirs at a very nice family friendly cost. We had an amazing time.
It's not super huge, but the information and things they have are awesome. Glad I went and plan on going back again just for fun
