I love shopping at 88 Supermarket. Even if I end up buying nothing, I still just love to walk around see what they have to offer. That other Asian supermarket that's bigger and more well known is more convenient for us, so we tend to shop there more often. When I'm able to though, I love poking around 88 Supermarket. Their selection of Asian foods is just as good if not better than that other place; their selection of Filipino foods in particular, seems fairly extensive. They are also my personal favourite now when it comes to shopping for Foccacia bread.  You might be rolling your eyes right now, thinking "What?! Foccacia bread? That's an Italian thing? Why would anyone buy that from an Asian supermarket?!" I bought their Foccacia bread awhile back when I saw it advertised in their flyer for $1.98 each. Having gone back to 88 Supermarket a few more times since then, I've come to discover that they actually sell their Foccacia bread for that same price every week! It's not an excellent Foccacia bread; however, for the price they charge...it's pretty decent. I love toasting it up and having it with a hot bowl of soup for dinner. They also now make Sushi and Banh Mi sandwiches that you can order in advance. Havn't tried either of those out yet but I'm very curious about them. Service: Fair Parking: Plentiful and free Location: On 49th Ave.@ Elliott St., across the street from Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.
A rare visit since the full on store re-branding some 3 years ago was surprised to find a clean, well organized store with lots of international variety foods. Large produce, fish and meat section. Although I found the prices for such items to be overpriced. Staff are friendly and efficient. Almost all available checkouts were open, lines short. There are no Self-checkouts at this grocer.
Good supermarket that has a bit of everything from many different countries including Eastern Europe. They even have Kirkland brand items too. It's too bad they change their deli section. Previously they had a better selection of sandwiches. Gotta watch their prices though.
Very good selection of food items you don't typically find at major supermarkets. Lots of non wester food items. Staff is always friendly, but it is a popular place so it's typically busy but they do have parking available. I like it.
Wide range of selections for ingredients and snacks. Got specific sections for Vietnamese, Chinese, Mexican, Filipino. They are selling live seafood as well. The down side is the items are pretty pricey.
88 Supermarket, formerly Killarney Market, is a world food tour, with an emphasis on Asian ingredients. Killarney was more European and it touted it’s own roast beef. 88 still does the roast beef but doesn’t promote it as such. We drove by, turned around, and went in to ‘check it out’. We came out with four bags! I was really amazed with all the produce and goods that I had not seen before in other stores let alone under the same roof. Taro stem, banana flower, rice flakes, and pork blood! You will also find random surprises like honeycomb at a great sale price. It took me some getting used to the texture, but if you want to try it for the first time, $7 is a bargain for almost a pound. 88 did keep the Peruvian items from Killarney’s time, and there are a lot of Mexican food products. There are two warmers for various dim sum items. The big surprise for me was the Mexican Pepsi. I have seen Mexican Coke and cola, but 88 was the first time I came across Pepsi. If you are a fan, get it here. The only thing to note is once inside, the social distancing pretty much went out the window. I think it is very challenging for any store staff to monitor/enforce that and it really is up to the customers to follow the recommend guidelines. So bring your recipes and your shopping bags because you may leave with more than you planned for. Daniel
Always love wandering the aisles here, so many different kinds of ingredients, from Mexican to Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino and so much more! They have some hot food during the day, live fish and an assortment of vegetables.
A helpful place for Asian people. I can find ingredients for my Asian food, they have all kind of noodles that I like and you can find fresh seafood here. Helpful
Give the people options of a self serve checkout so we don't have to wait for the extremely slow cashier's. 30 minutes is how long it took for less then 5 people infront of me to get rung through. 30 minutes. This isn't just from shopping but standing in line. The cashier was soo slow. Customers were piling items on top of each other in efforts to clear their baskets/cart but the conveyer wasn't moving. Literally scanning one item, as slow as humanly possible, at a time. Even when there are multiple of the same item. Instead of piling together and enter amount to scan, Nope! Pick up, one item at a time and scan. FML.
Busy busy good pricing fully stocked My only issue is the aisles are so narrow it's hard to shop freely.
