We walk the talk – reduce, reuse, recycle!
KILLAM TWICE NICE STORE SOCIETY
The store was formed in August, 1995 by the Killam United Church and registered with the Alberta Society Act at that time.
The founding members of the Society not only perceived the establishment of the store as a way of giving back to the community in donations but felt it was an excellent recycling project for not only Killam but for the Flagstaff County.
Funds raised are dispersed back into the community as follows:
All churches in Killam plus the Seventh Day Adventist Church
Killam Hospital Foundation
Killam Public Library
Christmas Sharing Program
Flagstaff Foundation (F.F.C.S. program)
Hardisty Lake U.C. Camp Society
Killam Legion
We work locally with other organizations to assist in emergency situations within the County of Flagstaff such as those in financially difficulty, fire victims, etc.
In addition to the above organizations we also donated or have donated to:
Alberta Community Support Association (on a regular basis)
Salvation Army
Mission to Mexico
Youth Centre
Marion Centre
Bissell Centre
Kids’ Cottage
Slave Lake Fire
Coats For Kids
Blue Ribbon Babies
A trailer donated by Hi-way 9 takes winter clothing to The Mustard Seed Personal Assistance Centre, Edmonton, and distribute it to other agencies for the homeless.
We do our best to recycling those items we are unable to sell by sending them to ACSA or taking them to other recycling agencies such as Centre Cam (Camrose), the Camrose Emergency Centre, Wetaskiwin sport shop, etc.
We walk the talk –recycle, reuse, reduce!
