Kibo is a great restaurant if you want to pick up something small to go. Their cash and carry is so convenient when you want to scratch that sushi craving! Their platters are a good amount of size, though I prefer the variety from other restaurants nearby, so I often stick to the cash and carry, which is still good! The quality of fish is good but nothing amazing, to me. I've had fresher fish and bigger cuts for a better price overall. Nothing really stands out to me about Kibo with their food, but service and availability of food is always good!
This is based on my experience in 2022. I'm a big fan of Kibo sushi and it truly is one of the more friendly on your pocket sushi places for me - which I loved as a new student in the city. The then $5 I now believe $6 cash and carry is one of the best things ever. My go-to orders are the California roll and the Spicy salmon roll. I've heard very good things about Yam and avocado, but I haven't tried it myself. 6/5 and would go back time and again to all their outlets definitely!
Our family used to love this place and would only order from here whenever we craved sushi, but tonight we were so so disappointed and put off… We ordered two party platters and one sashimi-only dish. For the sushi, it was so obvious that they tried to hide a RIDICULOUS amount of rice under the THINNEST slice of sashimi… The sashimi was also so much smaller and thinner than it used to be, I was sorry to have paid for it. One of my pictures show 2 of the salmon sashimi pieces next to a maki piece for size comparison. One thing we did appreciate was being given lots of wasabi and ginger. We ended up throwing out most of the rice out and having a bad meal in general. Have been a long time customer and used to absolutely love their fresh and thick sashimi, but I don’t think I’ll order from them again.
Used to love this place, we’ve been ordering take out weekly for a few years, but will start looking for a new sushi option. The quality has gradually gone down and so has the service. There’s something missing from the order every other time, either soy, chopsticks, ginger or wasabi. There is lot more rice in the rolls than before see picture below and it’s hit or miss for the quality. The prices have gone up I get everywhere has gone up and I would be totally okay with it if the quality had remained the same. Tonight we got charged 2$ for asking for no tilapia as a sashimi . We didn’t ask for a premium replacement, yet there was an extra for omitting something.
This is my go to spot in southern Etobicoke. The best price and value for really great sushi. They are so friendly when picking up, it’s always a wonderful experience ordering from them.
I ordered Spicy Chicken Karage and Dynamite Maki. Both were stale and bad. They charged me extra for asking them to make spicy chicken karage spicy and it was still sweet. The dynamite Maki tasted weird and really really bad. On my second bite my friend chicken actually had plastic inside the tempura batter!
Amazing sushi - quality and price! The staff was friendly, and the food came quickly. Definitely a new go to spot when I'm craving sushi. Also it's already good value, but you can get 10% off when paying in cash.
I'm a weekly Sushi consumer and trying to find a new sushi place near where I have moved recently. Last week I had Sashimi B takeout ordered there with few other things and very disappointed. Just as other reviewers has mentioned, Sashimi sizes were so small. Surprisingly it was and I should have checked reviews before ordering which I do usually. Not a joke. These Sashimi were so tiny that it just lost in the mouth. Never again ...
Really safe bet. I often order take out from here and their rolls are usually delicious. Their classic rolls are good too - can't go wrong. I didn't actually get to eat at location yet but I feel it would be even better if eaten immediately when served versus when I get take out. Their side dishes are also good miso soup, salads, deep fried items, etc. Overall recommended if you want a consistently good sushi.
I've been getting sushi from this place for years and initially rated it 5 but sadly I am changing it to 2. The quality went down. I ordered some sushi and Gyoza last night and it was nothing like it used to be. I was very disappointed
