Keys Cafe & Bakery

We booked for afternoon tea which was delicious and plentiful. All the finger sandwiches were freshly made and the little cups of delicious soup were piping hot. All finished off with cakes, scones and other sweet items. We couldn't manage to eat it all so it was boxed up for us to bring home. There was an offer on their FB page .....All this for £16.95. This was not our 1st visit to the Keys and I have to say they serve fabulous food and have great staff x

Always enjoy visiting The Keys. Fine food in a crypt, what more can one ask for? We had tea and a bacon sarnie to share. Excellent smiling service and fair prices. A spacious place with wonderful vaulted ceilings. We shall be back.

Marvellous place for a meal or afternoon tea in Huddersfield town centre. It's located in the crypt of a church and fairly popular throughout the day. The large breakfast and cappuccino I got was really tasty. They have entertainment evenings with meal included throughout the year. It's also got a shop and toilets. The staff are very pleasant and efficient.

I attended the venue for a private function, although the building itself is beautiful and offers a great backdrop, the area in which to purchase drinks was tiny! In addition the prices were in comparison to what I'd expect to pay in Manchester, £3.25 for a can of diet coke? The food which was prepared for the function was lovely and as it was somewhat open plan it allowed it to be seen as to the level of hygiene which was a bonus. Vegetarian options: They did offer a vegan option, I am unsure if this was on the request of the person whose party it was.

The only criticism I would say and it's not a fault. When two friends my wife and myself were there for High Tea. That was plentiful, nicely presented and enjoyable both male partners of the party found it very noisy, due to us both living with dementia. This place has a wonderful atmosphere, is well priced and serves nice food.Food: 5/5

Decent enough but not quite special enough for an afternoon tea spread in my opinion. White sliced bread with a thin slice of ham. No pickle, mustard, salad! Millionaire shortbread chocolate was too sweet. Overall I ate it all but was glad I had a BOGOF voucher cos it wasn't worth full price. Vegetarian options: We weren't asked about veg options! I'm not vegetarian but I always like to know available options.

We called for coffee but had not booked so were asked to sit on a settee with a low table, despite proper tables being available. It was awkward and uncomfortable. We felt our custom and presence was not valued despite paying £16.75 for a latte, a tea and two tray bakes. I later found several reviews where customers had been treated with overt rudeness by the management - who then compounded their churlish behaviour by making inappropriate comments to the complaints about poor quality of food and service on the review site. I certainly will nor be supporting this business in future. Parking: It is in the town centre and on a pedestrian area - there is no parking close to the cafe.

Great avocado poached eggs. Coffee delicious. Good ambience in tge church crypt. Go early as it fills up quickly.Food: 4/5

I took my family here for breakfast and 1 of my children has a severe egg allergy, they explained that they couldn't guarantee for just beans on toast to be contaminated with egg and that everyone else could eat but that child wouldn't be able too. So they would just have to sit their watching us! We then cancelled the order and spoke with the manager and his response was I don't want to go to prison!. So make a note if you have an allergy you can go here big discrimination in a major way! Dietary restrictions: Can not go if you have an allergy
