The food and service were stellar. The gravy was so-so, and the chili was flavorful, however a little dry. Small but great atmosphere. The Reuben and the turkey club were phenomenal, and the dessert was really tasty. We will be back for sure! Atmosphere would have been 5 stars as well had there not been a table of screaming children seated directly next to us, it's a small venue so this wasn't easy to ignore.
I heard about this diner on Facebook and decided to try it for my brother birthday dinner we absolutely loved it and cant wait to go back the soup was phenomenal and the service was good and felt like a 50's diner. The ladies running it were professional and friendly. They have daily specials which are nice the Reuben sandwiches so delicious as well the hound dogs are definitely something to try. Definitely recommend trying this place wont be disappointed.
Have driven by many times and have wanted to try it out. It's a 50s Themed Diner with a really neat and clean atmosphere. Friendly staff. You get your seat then order and pick up at the counter, different but after COVID not surprising. The food is excellent, very good flavour with that handmade flair. I was very impressed with the quality and the options. We were there at 2pm on a Friday and it was empty. Will definitely be back, can't believe what I have been missing out on in my backyard.
I wanted to checkout this newish diner on the Northside. The food was okay but I found the Eggs Benny to be overcooked and the hollandaise lacking richness the sauce was very buttery. Something to note is that you order and pay up front. They will not come to you to take your order. I found this a bit odd. That said, I would go back here if I was around the neighbourhood. The other food our party ordered was good and I’m honestly really critical of eggs Benny. Parking: The parking is shared with the other businesses in the area and rather limited. That said the day I came, there was plenty of parking.
Price wise and portion wise, it’s great if you’re looking for a quick bite in the area. Northside needs more places like this. The waffles are fluffy and have great texture, and the chicken wings were fresh to order. Hash browns were great as well. Most of the breakfast/brunch items come with fruit too. Old timey diner aesthetics so that’s another thing to come check out!
It was an awesome Diner, very clean, very friendly staff and very comfortable. We sadly gave only 3 stars, the food was good we had no issues with that. We did however had an issue with the fact it took just over 40 min to get what We thought was a simple order and there was only 2 other tables being used so it was not busy. The Starlet BLT with ceasar on the side and the Wake Up Lil Suzy breakfast with sausage on the side. 40 min to get that, when we got it the eggs and hashbrowns were Luke warm not even hot and bacon was cold as it seemed pre-cooked. Maybe it was an off day but our first time here so we thought it would of been better. Good concept of the diner though
Loved the experience! Great service and atmosphere. I'm glad I am not a vegan as menu only has salad for you but it is an awesome salad. Their Reuben was amazing too as was their old fashioned milkshake and Sundaes. Would definitely go again!
Great food, friendly staff and really nice restaurant! We wanted to try Ken’s for a long time and we were not disappointed by their brunch! Friendly staff welcomed us and handed the brunch menu. I picked the waffles while my partner had the benedict eggs. While waiting for our food, we were looking at the decorations of the place, and enjoyed some good music. We were so pleased with our dishes! The food was hot, everything tasted fresh and made with love! We enjoyed every bit of it! Hollandaise sauce and fhe hash browns were the best part. Coffee tasted great too. It’s such a good neighborhood restaurant, please if you’re around you have to go! I’m definitely going back to try more of the regular menu
Food was decent. I felt a little silly giving a 20% tip upon ordering when I had to go to the counter to order, then go to the pickup area 15 feet away from my table to get my own food. I don’t know exactly how much money the diner is saving by not paying the employees to at least drop the food at the table. They wouldn’t even deliver the gravy that THEY forgot. No coffee refills offered. The decor is set as a 50’s diner but the experience in there doesn’t feel like it.
Brunch today was great! Prices are good, food is better than expected. I had the Ruben with Tomato soup, my wife had the Lil Suzie. We enjoyed it. Nice little shop!
