Had lunch here while passing through town based on previous reviews. The corned beef reuben may be the best I have ever had and the fries were done to perfection. Staff were friendly and funny, which is a big plus. If you want a quick meal in Rutland this is a far better choice than any chain restaurant.

More places like this should be in business - a welcoming mom & pop restaurant with an interesting menu of specials that are actually well executed and great drinks at great prices. Often places like this reach too far and don't execute their menu well while also overcharging for drinks to fit with a false 'nice' restaurant feel. Kelvan's is refreshingly down to earth. The night I was in, a kind woman was entertaining the bar and pumping out drinks. The wait staff was very attentive. The small kitchen was managed well and full of people who looked like they liked being there, and the food was great.

I totally expected this place to be super expensive and uptight, but I couldn't believe how much I loved it! A nice laid back atmosphere, very classy decor/setup, very friendly staff, and some phenomenal food - I was definitely blown away by this place!!

Passing through Rutland while traveling. Great lunch, good service, clean and pleasant atmosphere.
