We stopped for Saturday lunch with four of us. We loved the old car theme and all the car models on the wall. Our server did a great job. Portion sizes are a little smaller than usual, but we still had plenty to eat. There was only one person cooking, so it took a half hour from when we ordered till when we were served. The food was hot and quite greasy--typical diner food. Be sure to go to the bathroom here. This is what hole-in-the-wall restaurants are all about.
Delicious, awesome decor, classic small town diner feel! We had the Western Omelet delicious, pancakes yummy, lots of vanilla flavor, French Toast standard, bacon crunchy and thin, and cheesy hashbrowns American cheese on top - delish. We loved all the stuff to look at on the walls and you could see the cook preparing the food on the griddle which made for a cool atmosphere. The food options were no muss, no fuss, classic breakfast fare at a great price, and it all tasted homemade. They only do cash and tables were all full up on a Saturday morning so just know it's a small operation, but worth the wait! We plan on returning to try the burger sometime and spend some time walking around Marshall, really cute downtown!
Must be locals who love this place. I was sadly disappointed when I got my food. I ordered hashbrowns with cheese and it was served with a slice of cheese on top.
Loved this little diner! Very friendly, great service and wonderful food!
My wife and I go there all the time mostly on Saturdays, it's kind of a tradition. The waitress remember s us every time and knows what we like to order. Food is always consistent, never had a bad meal. I highly recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed.
An American diner. Not open all day. A wonderful place to get low priced food. There is usually a busy atmosphere, and one server, so be patient. Average check per person is $7 or so. I've went here for years and never been disappointed.
I'd give 10 stars if possible. I'll agree that the cash only thing is a bit annoying but it is a small price to pay. Literally, because the menu items are quite low. I had a western omelette prepared by a woman close to 70, and she made it in a meticulous way that only a woman with that much pride and self respect could. It looked like a work of art. Everyone was very friendly and wonderful. The ambiance is perfect. Food was on point and service was there when I needed it. I miss Marshall already. Jealous of those that call it home, when they have Kate's at their disposal.
Just like the 60-70’s diner experience with prices to match. The food was great and staff really takes care of you. Way better than the typical chains and a good reminder that old school rocks.
Awful experience. Ordered a grilled cheese with bacon, but it came with the bread not toasted and the cheese melted. I guess we were suppose to ask for it to be toasted? For $3.89 I feel like that's just a given. Asked for onion rings and didn't receive then. Asked for toppings on a sandwich and didn't receive those. Service was awful. I didn't bother saying anything because I just wanted to get out. Server didn't even come back to ask if everything was okay. I understand it's 1950s themed, but the cash only thing is ridiculous. Went here once and it was great, but I won't be back after this.
Great food and decent prices. Be mindful that they are a cash only business. They are a little small so if you have a large party, you may have trouble finding a seat. Well worth the drive and wait.
