If it's Moosehead Lake you want to learn about, you'll find good information here. The staff is great too! Whitney not only helps run the gift shop, she also ties up the "Kate" when she comes back from lake tours!
A really cool spot right on the Lake. Lots of cool photos and history inside and there was great art featured in the shop.
A truly wonderful trip on Moosehead Lake aboard the Katahdin. Beautiful scenery and a narrated history of the early days of the industries of the lake. Galley lunch and beverages available on board.

We go there all the time. Can't beat the location and everyone is super nice! We often have picnics in the nearby gazebo and watch the Kahtadin come and go.
The Moisehead Marine Museum us a terrific collection of items from the lake area. The jewel is a trip on the Katahdin, an old steam boat which once worked the lake as a commercial vessel. The museum offers different trips on different days. All are seasonal. Check it out.
Great place to learn the history of Moosehead Lake.
Have never been on their cruises however, wife and I were on Moosehead lake in kayaks and found ourselves in ther path of their boat. We were a good distance off but the captain respectively turned the boat and went around us far to the south making sure we weren't effective by the wake as well. Kudos to the captain!
