Really disappointing experience. These three containers ended up costing me $63 instead of the $40 I was expecting. Somehow I was charged a surcharge of $3-$4 per container on top of the menu price, a fact that was not apparent until after the online order had been placed. Chkplz Also, an $8 tip was added without consent. I tried twice to resolve this but have had no answer from the restaurant. I like to support small local restaurants but this experience was not good. The food was fine, though I've never had tandoori chicken that was minced and coated in a sauce. Saag paneer was fine. Madras beef heavy on potatoes. Won't be fooled again.
Great little Indian location on Westminster. Had both tandoori & butter chicken with dahl & rice. All amazing dishes. Tandoori chicken is what got me to start eating Indian food in the past. Butter chicken has never really excited me before. But there butter sauce is incredible! Vegie samosa was pretty good too. Also the people behind the counter are very accommodating with big smiles for all. Can't wait to go back for the next visit.
Really a disappointing experience, went in on a weekday afternoon and ordered two wraps one for me and one for my girlfriend. Mine was good, though lacking in size and flavour. My girlfriend’s on the other hand was a wreck...ordered the gluten free option advertised on the menu and was presented with chickpeas between two corn taco tortillas. Very authentically Indian. It was inedible such a shame.
Quick In and out, 5/5 food service courtesy. This place seems underground and only 32 reviews, but it's definitely one of my favourite Indian restaurant. The owner encourages customers to bring their own plates, utensils. She knows what's in the food and will answer questions concerning allergies. Great for gluten sensitivity.
Walked by and had to go back because it smelled so good! Honestly wasn’t disappointed, the food is awesome! Some of the best Butter chicken I’ve had in a long time. Less creamy and artificial and more tomato and spice. Also amazing samosas! And Kammy was very nice. Listen to her recommendations! Thanks Kammy I will be back!
When I got into the restaurant, there was Kammy preparing an order. When it got to my turn, she was so warm and pleasant and we had a bit of a conversation. When it came to the food, I had the dinner plate with tandoori & butter chicken with rice and chick peas which was so moist and savoury in my mouth. I highly recommend you to go to her restaurant! N.B: The samosas are also amazing
Recently ordered from here. The tandoori chicken is on small cubes of chicken breast, not on real pieces of chicken. The portions are unbelievably small. Increased to medium size or large size hoping to have leftovers for the next day. Hardly fed our small family.
Very good food but lacking in quantity. I had maybe 3 little pieces of beef in my beef Madras. It's a shame because it had a lot of flavor. Remember when we cook we should always make more than enough.
I ordered for the first time today on UberEats. Got the Meat Thali Plate. They give you one meat options & one veggie option. On the side you can choose rice or naan bread. I ordered butter chicken and chana masalla with a side of naan. Paid extra for more butter chicken. Got my thali and it’s all chicken... no veggies and they gave me rice and no naan bread. So they got one thing right out of 3. Maybe they’re better in person but I wouldn’t order online from them. The chicken is okay, nothing special.
The samosa dipping sauce was good. The rest was over-priced and average. It's a decent enough place if you live in the area but not worth going out of your way. When asked about naan we were told Indian people don't eat it cause the white flour makes them bloated. Interesting but certainly not true and sounds like a dig at Westerners. There are a billion people in that country and it is ignorant to think they all eat naan. She should just say she doesn't have a proper oven to cook it in because by definition naan is an oven baked bread as opposed to chapatis which are griddle cooked breadsbut then she'd have to explain why she has tandoori chicken on the menu. I won't go back because it's out of my way and I don't recommend it cause there's plenty of Indian restaurants that are respectful of their clientele and deserve the business.
