Kalmar Restaurant

Visited for the first time with the wife, and we were quite pleased with our visit. While the place was a bit dated, it had the feel of an old school family restaurant with plenty of booth-style seating and separated table dining area. Ordered the classic burger with a salad, while the wife had fish and chips. We split a strawberry waffle. The fish and chips were good the fries were outstanding, as was my burger. The salad was a salad but that's why I ordered it. Our waitress was very nice and funny. She spoke to us as if we had been long-time customers and it was appreciated.

Came for lunch here and ordered liver and onions.. The gravey was sour so called the server to let him know.. he said "it shouldn't be bad this early as we make grave once a week" The service is TERRIBLE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR A NICE MEAL.

I've been going to this restaurant for years, the staff are very friendly and never had any issues with the food. If you want a reasonably priced place to eat, I would suggest to try the Kalmar Restaurant on 80th and King George Hwy.Food: 4/5

Usually they have pretty good food but this one looks horrible. I ordered turkey clubhouse without any sides. Still had to pay the full price. And then when I got back to work I opened the box and got this. Cut in such a weird way with older yellow lettuce and greenish slice of tomato. Such a disappointing sandwich. Not worth 14$.

The corned beef hash is really good here, blonde waitress is a very nice person too

Don't eat here and the people that work here are crazy old women. I hope someday this restaurant will shut down and turn into an apartment building. You are better off eating at McDonald's than here.

Disgusting food. Tastes like plastic. I threw up on the first bite. Food is horrible here. The place is dirty: dirty floor with food scraps, dirty table and dirty utensils. When you go inside, the place smells like an old or ancient movie theater. The place is very dusty! The owner was also intimidating and had a loud voice. Not returning here, this is the worst restaurant I've ever been to!

Food is great, burgers are amazing and very good service

From the moment we entered, until we left, we were treated like GOLD! The waitress was friendly, efficient and a real HOOT. She was attentive to our needs, without being overly overbearing. Our breakfast was not only great portions, but high-quality and very delicious. What a wonderful dining experience. We highly recommend Kalmar.

The food is excellent! The kitchen Boss part owner chef Bal has created a excellent menu. The Fresh Bite menu has “Top” quality healthy and tasty ingredients. Salads Quesadillas and Rice Bowls that have you coming back for more! My favourite salad is the Strawberry Poppyseed with Chicken. My favourite Rice Bowl is The Mediterranean Chicken. Homemade soups too! Cream of Broccoli mmm I like that what ever your craving to eat Kalmar has it! Italian Chinese Indian Breakfast or Sandwiches Burgers and Desserts! Kalmar also has the best coffee then anywhere else Vancouver Crown Coffee is a Award winning Coffee Brand! Aman part owner and Manager of the front is a boss that is helpful understanding honest and nice. If you want a quiet comfortable place to enjoy a good meal maybe have a chat with the caring friendly staff go to Kalmar! It’s been known for great food and service for over 30 years!
