This was our first stop on our little Niagara weekend getaway, and what a delight! It started out with our server Michelle being an absolute gem of a person. She was watering the plants with some leftover water from some guests, laughing that she didn’t want to waste any when we walked up to the entrance. Michelle was honestly the star of the show, but the food was also divine. Huge portions made with so much love. The pretzel and cheese dip was some of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh out of the kitchen with a perfect amount of Maldon salt. We were lucky enough to come on Friday l, AKA fish and chips day. Crispy batter, flaky fresh fish, and house made dill tartar sauce. The goulash had a generous helping of beef and was perfect for the slightly chilly day. So sad we were way too full for any dessert. They thoughtfully place some blankets on each chair on the patio in case you get a bit chilly. Also, the washroom looks like something taken out of a fairy’s house. So cute! Will definitely be back.
First try in here after spending time at the Port Dalhousie beach. We were surprised how beautiful the interior was. Small restaurant but beautifully designed from the paintings, wallpapers, table set up and beer glasses. Love the vibe! Staff were also very accommodating considering we have stroller to dine in. Food and drinks were excellent! We had mushroom sandwich and schnitzel. We also liked Niagara wheat beer, refreshing and light drink. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!
Delicious European food A hidden gem in St Catherine’s, great food in an unpretentious atmosphere. Large portions and reasonable prices. We took Jackie’s recommendations for food and local wineries to visit and she did not disappoint! Hopefully we will make it back again one day
This place is amazing! The schnitzel sandwich is delicious and our waitress was so nice. I also got the apple strudel to go and really enjoyed it. Overall a great experience that I’d recommend to anyone in the area!
INCREDIBLE!!!!! Such a beautiful place!!! The vibe in there is just Zen! Small, quaint and the perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner or a pleasant get together!! We did the romantic dinner for two and both my wife and I just love this restaurant!! The decor is subtle but has a beautiful traditional Germanic look and feel to it. Jackie Jacqui, Jacky the host and table attendant was just wonderful!! Took care of the whole floor and was just a joy to have there, she's a beautiful addition to this place! The food!!!!! OFF. THE. HOOK!!! Brilliant proportions, the display is artistic and creative. The taste is exquisite!! Prices are on par with what you would expect and so worth every bite!! We'll definitely be going back when we're in the area!!!! Just go!!! It's in Port Dalhousie and SOOOO worth it!!!!!
This is a wonderful restaurant with great ambience and delicious food on the menu. Set in idyllic Port Dalhousie, this restaurant offers a wide variety of choices for any dietary need. The portions are just right and the staff are very polite and ensure that you have a great experience. The Sacher Torte is a must try.
We ordered takeout/curbside pick up through their online website. Super easy to do. The order was brought out promptly to our car at the time we ordered it for pick up and the food was still very hot and fresh when we got home. We got the Bavarian pretzel with cheese sauce, Hungarian goulash and schnitzel sandwich. Every single meal order was absolutely amazing. Very authentic and delicious German food. I hope soon to dine in as the outside looks very nice as well. But for getting takeout it was beyond great. I highly recommend it.
Minutes away from Niagara falls, this lovely and cozy restaurant, has a fantastic view of the Marina. Jackie our server was fantastic, she prepares the best cocktails!! We enjoyed their fresh and tasty Haus Salad order it with crumbled blue cheese! followed by a couple of amazing, perfectly breaded flavourful Schnitzels. But, the king of the night was their home made apple Strudel. We would drive back from Toronto, just to eat here again!
On a Thursday night, the service was very slow. From the time we sat down at our table till the food was served took one hour. There was no table bread to nibble on during the wait, by the time the food arrived at our table, we were quite hungry. As for the quality of the food, I was looking for a traditional schnitzel, so I was disappointed by what I got. Instead of one big piece of meat, I got one small piece and a medium piece. The meat was also quite dry. Instead of coated with flour, egg wash and bread crumbs, it was coated with a wet batter. Instead of fried in butter, it was deep fried in vegetable oil. Instead of seasoning the meat with salt and pepper before coating, some big grains of sea salt was sprinkled on the outside of the batter, making the seasoning uneven. Some bites were bland, and some bites were too salty. On the other hand, one can say the KaiserHaus schnitzel is healthier than the traditional schnitzel. The red cabbage was not rotkraut but pickled cabbage. The spaetzle was homemade, but instead of scrapping the batter on a board into boiling water to form long strand of noodles, the batter was pushed through a sift and formed tiny ball shape noodles. Instead of ordering dessert at the end of the meal, we decided we had spent enough time in the restaurant and got ice cream from the store next door instead.
Truly a hidden gem in St. Catharines Very welcoming and friendly staff. Ordered the local sparkling wine which was amazing. The food was 10/10 and the portion sizes were good! The aesthetics are so so beautiful- amazing wallpaper, placemats, washroom and decor! It’s such a cute little spot and coming here with my family will really be memorable as we all enjoyed it! I will be sure to come back if I’m ever visiting St. Catharines again! Lots of love!!!
