Amazing time! Not meant to go for more than two or three nights tops, due to cold nights, but besides that it was fantastic. So much fun, so romantic. It's the kind of place you go to and fall in love.
Beautiful common house, the cabins are clean and gorgeous, cute fun little activities and great staff. Altogether a great experience!

I don't know what to think of my experience at Kabania. I feel like it's something else for sure, but it doesn't make sense as a whole. Escape the city? Sure. But all the cabins are smushed together, you can hear your neighbors snoring. Live in a rustic shack? Sure. But it's sitting a stone's throw away (literally) from a huge heated common house with all the comfort of modern life. Come to relax and disconnect? Sure. But every building is so close that you can hear people partying in the main house from your bed and unruly children screaming at any hour of the day and night inside and outside the common area.
Another problem is that, when we visited, it ended up being one of the coldest nights of the winter with temperatures plunging to -30°C before windchill. That night, it took us 4+ hours to raise the temperature inside the cabin to a meager 10-15°C by burning logs like there was no tomorrow. The temperature never raised higher than that because cabins are not insulated. By chance, we arrived at 8pm and not 11pm! Nobody had the forethought of sending a warning message to arrive early enough or to start heating the cabin for the guests that arrived late. We saw people arriving as late as 11pm, I honestly think they slept in the common house that night.
All in all, this place is a paradox I think... you pay quite a fortune to escape the city life, only to find yourself surrounded by noise, proximity, lack of privacy and stress. I had a better time in less pompous places like the Diable Vert in Sutton, where cabins are far away from each others, they provide slow burning logs so that your night isn't just short 1-2h long naps punctuated by endlessly putting wood in the stove and the main house is secluded, away from the cabins to keep noise to a minimum.
I came back from Kabania more tired, more stressed and sicker than when I left. But at least, I have a story to tell.

Amazing location. Loved the cabanes Sur pilotis. Very clean. Great walking trails. Wild blueberries everywhere!

Fantastic concept. The Cabanitas are wooden shacks elevated about 20 feet in the trees and of the size of a 4-6 person tent. An elevated patio accompanies the shack as well. Well organized, not too crowded and the common areas are clean and well thought out. In addition, the other guests were all personable and outgoing. Some fantastic hiking trails in the area and a small stream nearby for swimming. Larger wooden cabins are also available for families or larger parties. Showers, bathroom and cooking facilities were all clean and well maintained. Very much luxury camping but in the best sense. Would definitely return but beware of the mosquitoes during summer months.
