K2 at Kirby House
"K2 is The Kirby's wood-fired pizzeria and game room. Just one flight up from The Kirby's main dining room, K2 is a fun diversion for families and groups looking for a casual night out. Those looking to relax can enjoy a craft beer on the deck while the sun sets over Lake Michigan. For the more playful at heart, K2 has billiards, games and the most savory pizza on the lakeshore. The signature sweet and smoky flavor of a wood-fired pizza is not to be missed. The wood makes it good!"

Here’s the bad: The pizza If I was just reviewing the pizza, it would be 2-3 stars. Honestly the best comparison is Speedway gas station pizza. I still like it, but it isn’t worth the price. Also, my wife and I try a margherita pizza everywhere we go and K2’s is probably the worst we’ve had. One more thing, I would recommend to the owners that they invest in better audio speakers. Now here’s the good: K2 is legitimately a very cool venue. I absolutely love it. The staff seemed happy and like they actually enjoyed their jobs which definitely gives a good atmosphere. Overall, while the pizza is subpar, it’s still a fun place to go to, especially with friends.
Big swing and a miss, customer service wise. Decided to spend our 5th anniversary in GH and came here for a fun rooftop experience. The round high top table we were sitting in had a freak phenomenon and the metal lining that wrapped around the entire edge of the table’s screws broke lose and slapped me in the torso. Wasn’t the end of the world they moved us to a different table not a huge deal but the servers made the manager aware and I was surprised the manager never apologized or said anything. We were cool and didn’t make a big deal but at the end of the night I was a little surprised to find out that nothing on the bill was comped. Happy to pay for what I bought just a little disappointed they didn’t do anything to remedy the fact I was assaulted by one of their tables. To make things worse they pushed the table with open screws poking out against the wall and continued to use it even tho it was definitely a safety hazard. Great opportunity to make a customer feel good after a weird circumstance and chose to do nothing. Unimpressed by the manager on staff. Servers were good though.
The pizzas are good, the drinks are inexpensive. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful, but the servers generally don't check up on you. I prefer it that way, but some people might not. The only real complaint I have is that the tables outside are metal, so in the summer it's unbearably hot to the touch and there is just a ton of glare on your eyes.
Edit: taking away 2 stars for waiting 4 YEARS to reply and my main critique was the slow service The pizza selection is unique and the food was good. However the service was very slow. Waited a long time to be brought our menus and drinks. Our food order wasn't taken until the appetizers came out. Of a staff of 5 servers and a bartender looking after the patio, the only one working was the bartender while the rest of the staff huddled and socialized in plain sight.
The waitress and manager were rude to us because my wife ordered a drink but had lost her license and had a temporary paper license . Even though she is of age she was not allowed to order a drink, which is fine, we respected their decision, so she became the designated driver for our group but then they kept coming back to our area to watch if she was drinking from my drink. The manager was rude to my wife about the situation and made us feel ostracized. We felt so unwelcome and harassed we left without eating and went to eat at Portabellos across the street, they actually have good food and decent service. Never coming back to this place.
What a great view to compliment great food and drink! Service is friendly and responsive. Build your own gourmet pizza is A+. Tasty brews on draft. Sunset view down the Grand River towards Lake Michigan is superb.
Mixed feelings about this place. To start, the table and chairs were wet and it took a good 5 minutes before someone showed up. Ordered cheesy bread and when we got it, it was barely warm. Although they did take the bread off our bill. The pizzas came and were hot and tasted OK. Everything took a long time but they did seem understaffed.
You know it's funny I've been to kirby's many times and never knew this reaturant was on the other side. We found this place while looking for somewhere to eat for Vday. Atmosphere was small but very nice just a little cold but then I am always cold. Our waiter was very informational and very nice. We got to try a few wines before picking the perfect one, the waiter wanted to make sure we got one we would like which was nice. In fact I found one I loved so much, the waiter even wrote it down for me so I can get the wine for home. I also felt the prices were pretty fare for a nice fancy dinner. I gave this one 4 stars and not 5 because even though the food was good and looked great, it still didnt wow me. It definitely could have had a little more flavor. All and all though I would love to go back and try some other foods because I am sure I can find something I'll like better. This place is a definatate must try. Great experience and Looking forward to going back.
I had a family get together at the K2 Pizzeria the night before our wedding, so everyone could meet and mingle before the big day. We did apps, including pizzas, and offered drink tickets to the guests so we could control the cost a bit. It was awesome and I heard the food was delicious I guess what "they" say is right - the bride never gets to eat!. I will go back so I CAN try the pizza! Lesa Kicz was why this party was so nice - she was so organized and chill. There was never a problem or "big deal" over anything - Thank you, Lesa, for being so wonderful to work with during such a busy time in my life! Everyone loved the food and had a great time! ~ Erin
K2 sounded well and good, the menu was awesome but the wait staff was very slow, un-engaging and couldn't keep orders straight. i got a $5.25 house salad which came drenched with Italian dressing which i didn't ask for and when i asked for ranch, they brought Chipolte Ranch.. Oh, i ordered the salad for a starter and they brought it out with the main course which took 45 minutes. all of our food was luke worm and not very pleasing. I don't normally complain about places but i thought it was worth mentioning.
