K.M. Forster & Co. - Chartered Professional Accountant

Used her for my tax season with no issues. Went to call this year I could barely understand the receptionist I asked a question she ignored me. Customer service needs to be addressed with this accountant.

I've been working with K.M. Forster & Co. for over 5 years now and can't imagine ever going anywhere else to have my tax returns done! They are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and they truly go out of their way to ensure that no important tax deductions are missed. When I first went in, Kathy reviewed my prior year's returns (at no charge!) and found several items that had not been accounted for on my returns which resulted in additional refunds from CRA. I am so happy I made the switch!

STAY AWAY! Kathy is the worst accountant I have ever used. I hired her to do my taxes last year and she was not only incompetent, but she is not honest and forthright. She made a mistake on my taxes and neglected to claim an item even though, she was fully aware of that item. And in her mistake, she never once acknowledged nor apologized for her mistake. And to make matters worse, she then tried to charge me for her time to do the T1 Adjustment on my taxes for the mistake she made! Unbelievable! The accountant I choose to use is someone I have to be able to depend on for their expertise and knowledge, which is why I hire an accountant. I am not the expert here. I also expect them to look out for my best interest, not be out to gouge me for money and too be accountable for any mistakes they make on their part and rectify that mistake and eat that cost, not charge me for it!. Mistakes happen and I am fine with mistakes, but what really bothered me was her lack of acknowledgement an no apology. Also, her communication skills is lacking as well. She is impossible to get a hold of and when asked a question repeatedly, she neglects to answer the question. I asked her repeatedly what the cost was for her to do some follow up work to do with my taxes both verbally and twice on email. But, she didn't respond so, I assumed there was no cost and then she hits me with a bill that was an unreasonable amount to pay for what was maybe 30 minutes or less of work,. And it was barely any work because, I provided her the template for the task so, she didn't have to do the work from scratch. UPDATE TO MY REVIEW - CRA audited the income tax this accountant filed for me last year and there was an amount she claimed on my taxes that is not allowed to be claimed. Due to her absolute incompetence, I was informed I had to pay back amounts owing to CRA that should of never been included in my taxes. Anyway, stay away from this accountant if you want an honest, competent and accountable accountant to do your taxes.

I recently dealt with a Kathy; she is totally incompetent and due to her blundering CRA is now questioning some amounts that were claimed and informed me they were incorrect and items that can’t actually be claimed. now in big trouble and being audited! First time in my life! undeu stress now not just on me but my wife and kids...
