I’m glad we have a new restaurant came to the neighborhood! We came one time for lunch, and one time for dinner. Our kids love the food. The fish is very fresh. Great service! Especially very reasonable prices. Lots of vegetarian choices and good portions.Food: 5/5
We came to Jyugoya on Thanksgiving for dinner as a couple. The restaurant had about 3 other families and was not too busy. The service was stellar right from the start. When the waitress took our order, she answered all our questions and let us know that there is a promo on: buy one house special sushi roll and get one at half price. So we got two different types of house special rolls + one tempura udon see pictures attached. The food was fresh, delicious, and came out promptly. They had music playing softly enough that you can still have a conversation, and the ambiance is maintained. Both the men's and women's washrooms were clean and well maintained. Our total bill was around $50.
Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Jyugoya Japanese restaurant and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience, especially when it came to their sashimi offerings. The quality of the sashimi was truly outstanding, surpassing any other I've had before. Each slice of sashimi was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence. The fish was incredibly fresh, tender. The taste of the sashimi was simply divine, and they only use bluefin tuana. Not only was the sashimi and sushi, the overall dining experience was also truly delightful. Highly recommend this place!!
As a sushi enthusiast from Vancouver, I have a keen sensitivity for freshness, and I must say that I loved my experience at this restaurant. The quality of the sushi was great, and I would definitely love to visit again. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the Miso soup, which turned out to be the best I have ever tasted.temperature & taste
One of the best sushi place I’ve ever tried in Toronto. Especially the quality of the fish is the top notch. Great price and for the great value. Definitely going back there again.Food: 5/5
It is hard to find good sushi and I believe I found it. Price is reasonable and their rice is soft, fresh and fluffy and not hard like most places I been. They emphasize on their presentation that is very appetizing, and beautifully decorated. The Sashimi’s just melt in your mouth. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is somewhat tuck in between Wild Wings & Baskin & Robin and off directly from the Bayview Street itself so you have to know where to look for this hidden gem.
I had a great dinner at Jyugoya last night with some friends. What stood out the most to be was just how flavourful and complex every dish was. The tea and miso soup had bold flavours. The salad dressing was so citrusy and aromatic. The fish was so fresh and were very flavourful. The uni is a must try for anyone who likes it, it filled my whole mouth. I also highly recommend the tempura - the batter was just the right thickness and it was rich in flavour as well. Jyugoya really stood out to me compared to many other Japanese restaurants in the city. The quality is excellent, the fish is fresh, and there’s just enough of a unique spin on everything that makes eating here interesting without veering too far off from the traditional. Pricing was very reasonable as well!
The chef is very genuine in his goal to "make the most beautiful sushi". I appreciated his integrity in his craft and his dishes were very delicious since it was slow when we got there, we were able to talk with him about the design and he shared a nice story of the dragon on our plate and the heart. Great vibes from him. The staff seemed new to serving but doing his best. I say this because I have been a server before and noticed that he would place dishes awkwardly on the table given how beautiful they are, gracefully presenting it at the table actually matters. I'm aware the plate is heavier than normal, so in this case, you'd need to use both hands to bring it down flat and slowly, and then turning it and he didn't remove the dinner plate so we had that on the table when receiving dessert. *A small note as well, was that the cup smelled a little chemically so make sure to check before serving or drinking. Just little things but I'm sure they'll get better over time as they read and respond to their reviews It was honestly a very pleasant experience and you should meet the chef, he's so sweet.
Very good. Very fresh. Very nice presentationFood: 5/5
We ordered takeout of the chicken udon and sashimi platter for two. It was so good! The fish was very fresh and portions were generous. We will definitely come back!Food: 5/5
