Got my hair done here for prom. I am very wary about people cutting my touching my hair but Jyotika made me feel very comfortable and safe. It's a very small salon with a few stations. The appointment felt very personal and she methodically worked though curling my hair, unlike other stylists I've been to she wasn't rushing. Took about two hours but the wait was worth it! The conversation was really enjoyable and she was super nice! The result was so beautiful and I got so many complements on my hair, it also stayed in place all night and I got it done in the early afternoon. I definitely recommend this place for getting your hair cut and styled. For my meter long hair and a two hour appointment she charged 150 witch was super reasonable and I gave her a large tip. One thing to note is that when I went she only took cash and e transfer so do be prepared for that! Me and my family will definitely be going back to her!

I had visited Jyotika’s Salon for the very first time for a hair cut. She made me feel so comfortable and she gave her suggestion based on my hair type and face shape which I really appreciated. Would be going back again for sure. I highly recommend this place

Only good for eyebrow threading… don’t come here for a haircut. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, I felt like I wasn’t treated fairly i.e. I was treated with some shady business practices. I went into the business for a haircut and eyebrow threading. Before the services were rendered, the owner and I had agreed on the price with taxes included for both a haircut and eyebrow threading. I remember this clearly as she showed me her calculator and calculations. She then proceeded to do the eyebrow threading, which went fine. However, when it got to the hairstyling, she showed me a couple pictures of her previous clients and said that the shorter I wanted the hair to be cut, the higher the price. For clarity, I didn’t really have a haircut in mind; I was okay with just getting a chop and some layers, whatever it may look like. In those pictures, she had showed me one of them which was longer in length than I had originally wanted with the price of what we agreed on and I said okay to it. On a side note, I don’t understand why for a haircut, there would be such a difference in price based on the length of hair. I can understand if the difference is a men’s cut and a women’s cut where the latter’s hair is longer and less shaving is involved, but for literally an inch or two’s difference, it makes no sense since the stylist is doing the same amount of work anyways. In any case, I agreed on a longer length because I didn’t understand why I needed to pay $10-$15 more for my hair to be an inch or two shorter. Now, this is where I think the owner is actually a newbie in hairstyling. She first washed my hair and then proceeded to cut my hair wet, not accounting for the fact that wet hair makes your hair longer, so once it’s dried, the hair has bounce and would be much shorter than what it was wet. So, by the end of it, I had a bob cut, instead of a shoulder length cut. That was fine since, again, I didn’t really care that much about the length, just that it was shorter than before. But then when she went ahead and asked for payment, she charged me about $30 more than what she originally stated, saying that because the hair was shorter, it was this price. When I pushed back saying we had agreed on a longer length hair, she said no and chalked it up to the fact that there’s also taxes that needs to be calculated into the price, as if I did not just hear her tell me she had already included the taxes in her original price before the services were rendered. Also, as others have mentioned, she demands that we pay her in cash or e-transfer, which is fine but extremely inconvenient. These are some very shady practices and I will not be coming back here again. I’m only giving 2 stars because at least the eyebrow threading and the hair washing went fine.Services: Eyebrow threading

My experience at Jyotika's Salon & Spa was by far the best I've ever had. I had once done my eyebrows in 2019 before the pandemic and it was tragic. I never wanted to get my brows done again, but with my amount of growth it was needed. So I decided to go to Jyotika's and it was incredible. She knew exactly how to shape my eyebrows and I'm pretty picky. She was incredibly sweet and gentle. Not to mention that her entire salon was sanitary and clean. I went 25 years of my life without doing my eyebrows in fear of them turning out horribly. I decided to finally give it a shot after reading all of Jyotika's good reviews. I’ve always been scared that they’ll come out too thin, or too arched, or simply not fit my face. I explained exactly what I wanted to Jyotika and she did an OUTSTANDING JOB. Highly recommended place. Had an awesome experience at Jyotika’s salon. She is the most humble person and very helpful when it comes to suggestions or recommendations. Situated near Eglinton station, she makes sure the client’s needs are fulfilled and makes sure that the client is well pampered. All covid-19 protocols have been met to ensure that I get the required hair cut whilst being safe during this pandemic. Would highly recommend as she makes sure to listen to your demands and ensure they are met. She’s basically got the hands for threading, hair scalp massage, hair cut , ... Jyotika’s the best.
