Good congee rven if they use methods to speed up the cooking of the base,. The rice noodles are not bad, but a little thicker then perhaps desired. Fried Chinese doughnuts are good here,
Based on the price point, the food is decent here. I can see people here gave a lower rating for this food stall or their food. Based on my experience today, the quality was quite decent. I ordered preserved eggs and salty pork congee, steamed rice rolls with Chinese donut, shrimp rice rolls and pan fried soy sauce noodles. All of them tasted delicious. And yes I agreed with someone who wrote a review here and talked about the thicker rice rolls. Normally we have thinner ones but I didn’t feel the thinner rice rolls had any issues. They were still smooth and soft and tasty. Don’t compare them with ones you eat at Kirin Chinese restaurant, Empire Seafood Restaurant or other bigger Chinese ones. This is only a small food stall running by a family. I just hope they can maintain their quality and don’t go worse. The food here is affordable. Local people come here for food. If you expect something that has a higher quality, then don’t eat here.
Great congee set at lunch. Decent huge portion and reasonable price. Can't finished all had to take home instead. It was delicious. Free parking available on site.Food: 5/5
This restaurant offers traditional Hong Kong-style congee and curry. At first, I do not expect too much for its quality due to the restaurant’s appearance. However, I found that the food from this restaurant is more than excellent but fascinating. I ordered the “Steam Rice Roll with Chinese Donut” and the “Shredded Salted Pork Congee.” Its taste is the same as the one I can get in Hong Kong. This is a big surprise because much of the food here in Canada will somehow be localized. But these two items are made by the traditional receipt, which instantly bought back many good old memories. Indeed, it also provides various types of rice rolls and snacks that serve with congee for example, sticky rice wrap, pan-fried radish cake, pan-fried taro cake, chestnut cake, XO radish cake, soya sauce fried noodle, and fried vermicelli. I also tried its curry beef brisket with steamed rice a few days later, and they are as good as the congee. And it is a surprise that later I notice they also have the HK-style imitation shark’s fin soup and dace fish ball with lettuce. Having all these food under the same hood and at a bargain price is not easy. It is highly recommended for congee lovers.
The best congee in town! Hangover? Done! Feeling under the weather? Done! Just had your wisdom teeth removed? Done! Tip: Get the chicken and mushroom and pair it with the sweet Chinese donut and you’ll be mind blown.
Waited 30 mins for beef rice roll. Cashier was rude and condescending. Didn't like that I asked her to check my order when I've waited for so long. Another customer came back to complain that they gave him a bowl of plain rice noodle when it was supposed to be a fried rice noodle dish and was unapologetic at all. Would never come back again even if it's free.
They told me they did not have diced fish when I asked for the Lettuce and Diced Fish Congee. Then they told me they did not have the Sliced Fish for the congee when I asked for the Sliced Fish Congee. Then she took out a paper from the till and told me a list of the ingredients that they did not have for the congee. Then she told me that they did not have congee; just rice rolls were available. If they had so many items unavailable, then they should put a sign with the list of those items on the counter to let customers know so they would not need to inquire repeatedly. She was not apologetic at all; she was happy to inconvenience customers. Her attitude was impatient and condescending. Moreover, the Chinese donuts were not fresh. They were pre-made in the tray.
I ordered a congee and a dough whipped with rice roll. The colour of the dough was nearly brown colour and the dough and the rice roll were separated. Long waiting and slow but quite a lot customers. But I think the food not worth for $14. Won't go again
The radish cake was the best we have tried in many places, and we have had lots before. It was so good that we had to hold ourselves back to take one picture before we devour the last bite. Also, good to see that they use biodegradable paper container. I was expecting typical styrofoam especially from a small food court hidden in the middle of nowhere. Environmentally-conscious diners rejoice! Updated ============ Food still tastes AMAZING but have to lower it from 5 to 3 because the congee consistently have teflon bits...: so now we only get non-congee items. Really sad about that because their congee is the best in town. PLEASE JUST GET A NEW POT!!!
Good congee and good ricerolls. Combo range from $9-11. Food court seating. Cash only.
