I came here for the French toast and it's not disappointed. Very soft and it's covered with yummy peanut sauce. We also also the cart noodle, curry chicken, and steam rice. Every meal we order comes with a choice of milk tea or lemon tea. The staff was very friendly and even recommended us to switch to a lunch special to save money. All the dishes were delicious at a very reasonable price. Definitely will visit again.
Decent cart noodle and good service. The noodle are firm and springy without soggy, and the broth is actually flavorful. Their homemade prawn balls are crunchy and you can taste the prawns, not just flour. The menu is huge and price was reasonable especially the tea set. Will come back.
I would say that this place is a very typical Chinese cafe style food. Menu has good variety but I think this place has certain items they make well and others that are offered so they have variety. Today for me, unfortunately I think I ordered something that they offer just to have variety. I ordered the Indonesian fried rice as it reminded me of an old place I used to visit that no longer is around however it did not compare. I wish they offered some sort of sweet soy sauce like the place I used to go Restaurant 59. I'd probably go back to get their club sandwich or a sizzling plate just to give it one more shot.
A friend and I dropped in to this Hong Kong style cafe for a quick bite after work. I had the Black Pepper Steak with Fries and my friend had the Rice Noodles with Beef. The thinly cut steak was tender, smothered in a black pepper sauce, and served with crispy fries. While good, this cut of steak would have been great in a sandwich. The beef noodle dish was also good. The service and environment left a bit to be desired. The restaurant was not as clean and tidy as I expected it would be. Our table was a bit sticky and we ended up cleaning it with tea and napkins. Our server wasn't very engaging, providing just basic service. Unfortunately, I don't recommend this restaurant.
I really like the all day special from this restaurant. The satay beef rice noodle and ham omelette is so tasty with such a great price. However, just tried the hainanese chicken rice and I was very disappointed. The chicken is ok, but the oil rice texture is so hard and rough. It is all dyed in yellow but it had no taste in it. For sure will not order it again.
Dining area is right, so no room for large groups, yet the servers are trying their best to arrange a a table for us group of 7 therefore thumbs up for that. The food is exactly like HK fast Cha Chaan Teng. Is good, but a delicacy, if people want top quality food shouldn't eat at Cha Chaan Teng, it's meant to be quick and cheap. So the food quality is true to the origin. I think the food are ok, but the stir fry dish are on the greasy side, and there are better option 10mins away. So I can only give it 3 stars.
Came here for dinner and got a table right away. The menu has lots of options, from baked dishes, fried dishes, and dinner combos. Tried their lotus steamed rice with ribs and chicken feet. It was quite flavourful, but a little too salty msg and was thirsty after. Their baked pork chop on rice with tomato sauce is decent, on par with other hk style restaurants, but missing some garnishes like carrots, peas, cheese, and those stuff. Milk tea was pretty good. The restaurant was clean, and have partitions setup between tables and the prices are reasonable for their portion size
2023 January 3.5 Owned by the same owners as Kitchen M. McCowan & Highway 7 this is their second location. Food is okay and the portions are good for the price. Certainly worth coming as the price is right. If your here looking for something amazing.. you need to look elsewhere, but it's certainly not bad. LS6 $12.95 - not bad, though the egg was a bit over cooked. N1 $17.45 - the duck was very good and flavorful. SP4 $10.45 - this was ok. SN6 $9.45 - the curry could have been better. Not intense enough. Comes with soup of the day depending on the meal and HK style tea . Free Parking within the plaza. Careful with parking during lunch time. There's a security patrol that checks if you parked in reserved spots. Parking: Security patrol checks if you parked in reserved
Came here for HK snacks/afternoon tea. We like that the restaurant wasn't overcrowded with tables so that you could still maintain social distancing with other patrons. The place seemed very clean and the service was decent. The food was okay. Grouper and fries - The fish was fried to a nice light golden brown and the same with the french fries. Indications that the oil was clean. Beef brisket with rotini in Russian Borscht soup with buttered bun - The soup itself could've used more flavour and there weren't too many pieces of brisket. However, the dish itself was simple and comforting. Hong Kong style French toast with condensed milk and peanut butter - French toast itself was fried very well. However, something seemed to be missing. It may just have been the brand of peanut butter they used or maybe there wasn't enough condensed milk. Since we came during their teatime hour, each of the above dishes came with a hot drink. We ordered the Hong Kong milk tea. If you like your tea strong in flavour, you will enjoy this. We weren't terribly impressed with the food; however, we will try and give this place another chance.
Generous portion. Fair pricing. Typical HK cafe taste. If you want something fancy, go to the one next door and line up for at least 1/2 he on the Yelp app.
